The truth starts to come out about Palin
Turns out the McCain campaign was *very* nervous, from the beginning, about Palin’s lack of knowledge. She didn’t know Africa was a continent (and not a country), didn’t know the US, Canada and Mexico were in NAFTA, etc. And here’s the best part: they didn’t do anything about it. They had the audacity to keep her on the ticket and, God forbid, if they had won, she would be a heartbeat away from the presidency. Disgraceful.
Now all I want to say here, ahem, is that they realized all this about this person within a few days of picking her and yet they went ahead for two months bullshitting us … and risking the live possibility that she could be president of the United States at a moment’s notice after next January.
You know: I took a lot of grief for my pretty instant realization back in August that the Palin candidacy was a total farce. But when you cop to the fact that the McCain peeps knew most of that too very early on after their world-historical screw-up, you’ve got to respect and be terrified by their cynicism. I mean: country first?
And they only lost by a few points?
In any event, look for more coverage like this on how much in-fighting and worry there was over S.P.:
November 5th, 2008 23:56
How do you know it’s the truth about her?
November 6th, 2008 00:28
I don’t know what happened behind the scenes but I know not to believe anonymous sources or suspected leaks within the campaign trying to hurt her image prior to the election. Sounds to me that people responsible for many of the screw ups are trying to find a scapegoat. What I do know is that from the day Sarah Palin was announced as VP nominee the Republican Party and many Independents became involved in the McCain campaign, they pumped more money into the campaign, and the most important thing of all, the conservatives didn’t stay home in protest. I’m not ashamed to admit that I voted for McCain BECAUSE of Sarah Palin, a born leader, a doer not a talker, and someone who knows first hand how I live day to day. If not for the economy tanking the way it did we would have ridden her shoulders all the way into the white house despite the obstacles in the MSM, black voting blocks almost unanimously voting for Obama, and McCain campaign advisors that appeared, at times, disorganized, not on message, and waivering. She never was off message and if not for her it would have been a landslide for Obama.
November 6th, 2008 00:37
She’s as qualified as Barry Obama and it bothered no one that his heartbeat IS the heartbeat in the Presidency. Palin did an excellent job. She would have had time to learn what was needed as VP. McCain is not so old nor feeble that he was going to kick off after a day or two in the White House. Palin is not my cup of tea politically, but I admire her for standing up under a sexist trashing that came from all sides, apparently.
November 6th, 2008 00:40
My point is that these claims made by Carl Cameron and others are very specious, yet they’re accepted at face value as the truth. It’s a classic case of people believing things uncritically because they fit into preexisting prejudices.
November 6th, 2008 01:24
Anonymous sources continue the anti-Palin narrative and Carl Cameron falls for it hook, line, and sinker. Governor Palin worked her ass off for McCain, drew bigger crowds, and has better instincts than him or his staffers. She is a quick study and will learn the nuts and bolts she needs to learn. What is important is that she is a real, actual conservative and can speak to it unlike McCain or the current President. Palin and Jindal are the future of the GOP.
November 6th, 2008 01:27
I would like to know the full and exact context of any conversation in which Sarah Palin supposedly thought Africa was a nation and not a continent. That sounds like hogwash to me, and someone just “reporting” she thought that without giving any details doesn’t convince me. For example, someone might have been talking about South Africa, which is indeed a nation, then started talking about Africa while Palin thought they were still talking about South Africa. There are countless possibilities for confusion there, and without having all the details we can’t know. Where exactly did Carl Cameron get this information? Presumably from someone who wanted to discredit Palin, which itself makes the report questionable.
November 6th, 2008 01:41
That idea that Palin did not know that Africa is a continent is so bogus it boggles the mind. How can anyone who believes himself to be a thinking person even entertain it? It reminds me of the banned-book list said to have been circulated by Palin (but which was of course not), which included titles such as “My Friend Flicka!!!!” You can’t be paying attention and subscribe to such nonsense.
Many Americans feel good about voting a largely inexperienced African-American into the nation’s highest office, yet they somehow justify without blinking the vicious, hateful trashing of candidate Sarah Palin. It almost seems as though one came at the expense of the other.
The more important question however, does not concern Sarah Palin but, rather Obama: When will the truth about Obama begin to surface? On his campaign financing alone, an entire book could be written.
November 6th, 2008 02:40
Why does the author here say that Andrew Sullivan said it best – but all your commenters are against that line?
She is more qualified than Obama and got the base more excited than McCain. Period.
and meanwhile that idiot Biden is a heartbeat away. Shame.
November 6th, 2008 02:42
…and meanwhile it is Fox news leaking this. the day after? (Chris Mathews laugh here).
It’s those McCain staffers who couldn’t construct a consistent message and fully describe what the subprime mortgage meltdown was and how it had nothing to do with Bush and more with the Dems.
November 6th, 2008 03:34
Obama was easily voted into the presidency because no one questions his intelligence. Google, one of the best companies on the planet, will hire a recent grad from a top tier school but will ignore a candidate with more experience who attended a tier 3 school. And this is what happened here. The American people decided we needed a brilliant President rather than an average hockey mom to solve these complex problems. There is no such thing as the Cliff Notes version of the world. Having an understanding of global economy and foreign policy sometimes takes many, many years and America can’t afford to put her through school. Sarah Palin ought to be ashamed of being as old as she is and knowing so little of the world. How did she get through life never paying attention to the world around her? AND SHE STILL DOESN’T KNOW WHAT THE VP DOES.
November 6th, 2008 03:35
Let’s look at the known facts here.
Palin was an honor student in high school, which is impossible if she did not know Africa was a continent. She personally took charge of negotiations with Canada re: the gas pipeline, which is impossible to do without being briefed on NAFTA. And most importantly, as governor of Alaska, she gets regular briefings on the geopolitical conditions of the world (seeing that Alaska depends on oil for a large chunk of revenues.) Her security clearance until now was higher than Obama’s. As part of these briefings it is impossible for her to have avoided knowing these facts.
In short, Cameron’s statements are a logical impossibility. If he told you wheels were square, would you run to report it as fact? If he told you 1+1 = 17, would you spend a minute to check the math. Don’t propagate this vile bullshit spewed by a man who is known to have fabricated stories before. If you don’t believe me, look up his bio on wikipedia!
November 6th, 2008 03:40
By the way, her description of what the VP does is exactly what article II of the Constitution says he does. Yes, the VP is president of the Senate, and not having a vote except in a tie does not mean he/she is not in charge of it. Do not blame her for your ignorance.
Btw, I would have a hockey mom in the White House over Obama. Issues of honesty aside, Obama’s ignorance knows no bounds: during the debates McCain dominated him on the economy. I need only a minute to hear him speak on any subject to prove that here is a said fruit of affirmative-action college admissions.
November 6th, 2008 03:40
said fruit = sad fruit. Sorry.
November 6th, 2008 03:45
It’s fact Sarah Palin was a drag on the ticket. I’m not sure what “energized the base” means but those people that were so energized were never going to vote for Obama anyway. Palin as VP pick did not bring new votes to the Republicans. The people simply did not like her–especially women. Her hard right views alienated independent voters.
Young voters vote democrat 2-1. Democrats are also favored among minorities. Minorities will soon be the majority in this country. The political climate is changing and it’s not in favor of conservatives. They’re going to have to change their tune in order to win elections. McCain could have won this election if only he had a different running mate and different message. Unfortunately they had to give Palin the attack dog persona to deflect the dumb Caribou Barbie image.
November 6th, 2008 03:50
She first stated she did not know what the VP does. Then, Sarah Palin said that as VP she can really get in there in the Senate to pass some good legislation. No, the VP does not do that.
I don’t know what is more frightening… the fact that a 45+ year old Governor doesn’t know a thing about geography and the constitution or that there are people like you who don’t mind having this ignorant person that close to the “nucular” codes.
November 6th, 2008 03:56
bird — look up some facts, please, before you post. Both rasmussen and NRO are clear on this: of those that said, after having voted, that palin was a factor in their choice more voted Republican by something like 13%. Of those that said she wasn’t, more voted Democrat. The exit polls prove she was not a drag.
As for being an attack dog, Palin was everything a successful candidate needs to be (and McCain wasn’t) She was consistent on the message, called Obama on his confiscatory taxation policies, and refused to drop it. If you listen to the policy speeches she gave, you will recall she offered plans that had nothing to do with attacking Obama. Unfortunately she did not get a chance to elaborate on those, since McCain essentially had to keep sending her all across the country to plug up leaks opened by his ineptitude.
November 6th, 2008 03:58
If she were so privy to information, then why did she have zero opinion on the Iraq war and state that she doesn’t really pay attention to it? How could any politician in this country not pay attention to one of the biggest issues our country is facing? Her display of willful ignorance is just disgusting. I’ve never seen a person so proud of not knowing anything.
Even the National Guard in Alaska stated that Palin has zero involvement in any of their operations. She’s also had zero interest.
Ask the folks back in Wasilla and they’ll tell you that she reviles the intelligent—always has. She’s got a serious inferiority complex and with good reason.
November 6th, 2008 04:01
Look, I am trying to be polite here. Please do not lie. There was never any point at which she said she did not know what a VP does. She was explaining Article II to a little kid asking her. She said the VP is in charge of the Senate. She also said he/she can getin there in the Senate to pass legislation. That is, I repeat, entirely consistent with Article II. As VP, she wouldn’t have been able to vote, but anybody who thinks a VP can’t pass legislation by leaning on Senators has never studied Nixon, LBJ, or Cheney in action.
Palin was right on facts. Learn from her. You’ll make fewer gaffes of your own, such as the one you committed in your last post.
November 6th, 2008 04:04
Simple: she has an opinion on Iraq war. She stated it during the Gibson interview. You have obviously been getting your info from liars and never bother to check. Every statement I made above is easy to verify, every statement you made is essentially you screaming that whoever teaches you to recite these lines doesn’t like her.
Grow up. Look at her record.
November 6th, 2008 04:04
McCain’s ineptitude. Hilarious. I don’t know what you’re smoking but it sounds good.
Sarah Palin did herself in simply by lying about her record, trashing Obama about ties that didn’t matter to the American people, and proudly displaying her ignorance. The numbers show a drop in support for McCain after the Palin/Katie Couric interview. The actuary tables were in favor of McCain dying and a possible Palin presidency so if anyone really liked Palin so much, they would have voted for McCain.
November 6th, 2008 04:05
Re: ignorance. Every bio of her I could find describes her as a voracious reader, both in school and now.
Peddle the Kool-Aid somewhere else. I ain’t buying.
November 6th, 2008 04:06
Wonderful Alex.. you voted for a person who only formulated her opinion on the Iraq war a few weeks ago after a McCain aide told her what to think. Wow.
Before that, she had publicly stated that she did not pay attention to the war in Iraq.
November 6th, 2008 04:07
The numbers show a drop for McCain after his failure to offer leadership on the bailout. The number show a comeback for McCain after Palin became more open to the press.
November 6th, 2008 04:11
Sarah Palin stated she doesn’t know what the VP does on TV. She also publicly stated she doesn’t pay attention to the war in Iraq. If you want to argue with recorded evidence of all this, I have nothing more to say to you. You’re basically arguing that the white house is orange.
It’s a shame I know more about Palin than her supporters. So sad. But.. she is our governor for a couple more years.
November 6th, 2008 04:13
well.. she must be reading the Enquirer because she’s proven she doesn’t know anything useful. She was tested and she failed. She doesn’t know simple things about her own country. To me, that is unpatriotic. I want my leaders to take enough pride in this country to know a thing or two about it. The woman can’t even name a supreme court decision. Good lord.
November 6th, 2008 04:17
I saw the transcript. She never said she doesn’t know it. She certainly showed she knew more than Biden during the debate. If you are resorting to making up facts to cover your ass when I catch you in an inconsistency, have fun doing so. And if you are Alaskan ,rest assured that she will easily be re-elected to the governorship — if she doesn’t decide she wants Murkowski’s Senate seat instead.
November 6th, 2008 04:21
She said she doesn’t pay attention to the war, yes. Why should she? She has a state to run. She certainly had an opinion on it, but that doesn’t mean she scans the net for Iraq news every night like I do.
As for what she is reading, she quoted Plato on Hannity. Must be the Enquirer. And re: Supreme Court decisions, she went into some detail on a decision called Roe v. Wade. Maybe you’ve heard of it. She named others later.
November 6th, 2008 04:21
the transcript of what? what are you talking about? are you talking about the debate? do you seriously think that is the only time she’s ever talked in her life?
you need serious help. perhaps you need to research sarah palin before she was introduced to the country as mccain’s running mate and before she was trained to say certain things. heck.. the videos of some of her interviews are available on youtube where she says she doesn’t know what the vp does and she doesn’t pay attention to the iraq war.
November 6th, 2008 04:21
bird: I don’t know where you’re getting your information but you ought to look around a little more. The Alaska National Guard says Palin has zero involvement in their operations? She’s their commander in chief not a general for God’s sake. Governors don’t interfere once their guard is activated for Federal operations. I do note, however, that she was one of the few govs that went to check out what her troops were doing in theater. She can’t, as a VP nominee, highlight her disagreements with the presidential nominee. Do you honestly believe she has no opinions on the war in which her own flesh and blood is fighting? Obama operatives have already admitted that they conducted a disinformation campaign and proudly boasted that it worked; baby was her daughters, banning books, etc. Obama won, its over. All one has to do is look at the masses of voters in Alaska to know she’s a great leader, intelligent, and a powerful and popular governor.
November 6th, 2008 04:24
wow… she was tutored to quote plato and you’re impressed. and wow.. you’re impressed that she knew roe v wade? You’re pathetic. She could not name one single supreme court case other than roe v wade. Where has she been this whole time?
And now you’re defending her ignorance on the war in Iraq because she has a job just like the rest of us. Most of us work insane hours every week but we still have time to know what is going on in our country. There is NO excuse for ignorance. Our forefathers would turn in their grave if this ignorant person had the “nucular” codes.
November 6th, 2008 04:28
Your ignorance is scary. You obviously knew zero about Sarah Palin before she was picked as VP. Her interview where she stated that she doesn’t pay attention to Iraq was well before she was being considered as VP so that has nothing to do with it.
Oh.. and thanks for bringing up the ban on books thing. How horrible of her to fire that librarian when she scoffed at the idea of banning books.
November 6th, 2008 05:42
So, Sarah missed some questions. Obama said, there are 57 states in the United States. Biden said, people watched the 1929 stock crash on TV. No TV in 1929. A person that wants to be presidents should know how many states in the United States.
November 6th, 2008 07:51
There’s a difference between “missed” questions and being a complete moron my friends. Forget about the gaffes. It happens, and we shouldn’t judge a candidate based on sound bites. I will judge them by their intelligence. I don’t want a “joe six back” and “hockey mom” running my country. Otherwise, we already have millions of eligible candidates in US.
You can nick pick all you want. The fact of the matter is when asked a direct question on serious issues at hand during a unscripted nationally televised tv interview, she didn’t know answers to those questions. She couldn’t even make a coherent sentence together.
If you are proud of those answers and willing to show them off to your dearest friends, then go ahead. I’ll stick to my obama speeches.
It’s one thing to be pro-Palin because you are a issue/ideology based person, but let’s be rational here folks.
Obama has an IQ of 150-170 (way above average, could easily be a CEO of a major corporation if he chose). Studied hard all his life. Willing to accept new ideas. If you are doubting his intelligence, even right wing folks have confirmed that he’s got some serious IQ. You don’t have to take my word.
Palin has an IQ of 110-120 (average intelligence). Anti-Elitist (smart people). Not willing to listen to new ideas. Sounds familiar? We hard 8yrs of that BS.
Think about it folks, if we are questioning her intelligence in this forum, isn’t that already evidence enough? If she’s so smart that it’s unquestionable, nobody would be talk about it. Did anyone questioned that Obama is an idiot? Not even the right wing folks dared because it would be delusional.
Need I say more?!?!?
If Pro-Life is your #1 priority, it doesn’t matter if Obama has IQ of 10000, you don’t like him and that’s that. Nothing to do with getting the economy up and running again or making our country safer, but hey, who’s says any of this a rational! :->
Stop being a closet issue/ideological people! Just admit it that you are as such. That’s why we have democracy so the rational people balances out with irrational people!
November 6th, 2008 07:52
Sarah Palin is a legend in her own mind… her ego is exceeded only by her ignorance. PLEASE put her back in deep freeze til a reverse time machine is invented and she comes back as the 1960’s caribou barbie she is so she can fit in with her other retro peers.
And hopefully, have babies BEFORE she furthers the ruination of Alaska and its birth-defect-producing attitude of “DRILL WE DON’T CARE ABOUT MUTANT NEWBORNS BABY, DRILL!”
November 6th, 2008 08:01
I love how the Libs totally discredit Fox News calling them Faux News among other things all the time even when the facts are in front of their face. Now there is a report- all here-say with unnamed sources and the Libs eat it up as truth with no facts just because it is a story that goes along with what they’ve been doing to her for 2 months.
November 6th, 2008 08:49
hey bird!! i really wish you wuld stick to the facts. yes obama has won? but ure so bitter about palin even though its obvious ure not talking based on facts. obama was the better candidate, not because of palin, but mccain. she showed herself to be a strong person and do you really believe that if she wasnt smart, alaskans would vote in the thousands for her?If all you say is true, then ure invariably saying alaskans re stupid or something. and stop with the abuse, it does not show any sign of intelligence on your part. try to be more constructive.
November 6th, 2008 08:50
obama has won and we would encourage him, but it doesnt mean you shld discredit others because of politics.
November 6th, 2008 09:22
even if you believe their experience (or lack thereof) is similar, the difference between palin and obama is that he is intelligent, thoughtful and informed, where she clearly is not. people voted for his potential, and against her potential. conservatives who became energized about the election because of palin would do well to find another person who brings palin’s positive attributes to the political equation, but who wouldn’t strike fear into the heart of citizens at the thought of her being in charge of the issues and crises that our country faces daily. palin is not “that guy.” her fifteen minutes of fame should be over, and the conservatives should take the lessons learned and incorporate them into a viable candidate for 2010, not a laughingstock.
November 6th, 2008 09:33
alex, your comment about obama, affirmative action and “sad fruit” is so out of line and vile it shouldn’t even be dignified with a response. if you’re so all-fired concerned about other people’s “facts,” please hold yourself to the same standard. how did obama perform at harvard law? who was editor of the law review his year? who besides you is alleging that he is intellectually challenged? please list your facts and sources.
November 6th, 2008 09:47
She is prettier than Barry and prettier than the staff members. She holds value that most people only hear about. She’s nice and well-spoken and not hypocritical. She’s the REAL DEAL and I love her.
November 6th, 2008 10:01
Wow, I like the passion of everyone, but for goodness sake, the level of self-righteousness throughout these posts is ridiculous. Obama posters are questioning Palin’s intelligence and saying absolutely moronic things, and vice versa. Obama is extremely intelligent, that does not make everyone else stupid, dumb, and unqualified. As I wrote in another post, Kerry’s GPA at Yale was worse than Bush’s yet he is on the short list for Secretary of State. I would expect these same liberals who are questioning Palin’s intelligence to go after Kerry’s? No, of course not. Palin IS a big reason that McCain was in this fight, but also a large reason why he lost. She absolutely energized the base, but that’s all she energized, and McCain was unable to reach out to independents as he is supposedly able to do. I believe that Palin got new Republicans out to vote, but Obama got MANY more new Democrats out to vote, thus the landslide. She is not stupid, Joe Biden is not stupid, not even George Bush is stupid (or John Kerry for that matter), so leave the self-righteousness at home, please.
November 6th, 2008 10:31
Your all standing with your head in the sand.
Before long we’re all gonna see the sad out come of this.
This nation is getting what it want’s and what it deserves! So be it!
Don’t get me wrong I love this country, But when we except anything and everything that is totally against how our fore-fathers (not to mention GOD! heaven forbid!) set in place for our great nation, what do we expect.
I can just hear some of you now ( here we go again with the God, thing )but stop and think for a min. look at all the different countries that believe on anything but God, tell me what you find. These countries have never had the freedoms the wealth or any of the very important things God, has blessed us with.
God, is no different than we as parents are. We set rules for our household, for the good of our children. When those rules are broken we know if we don’t bring it to our children’s attention and deal with it, thing will get worse and worse until our family falls apart.
This is what has happened to our country, so until we can get back to doing what is right and standing up for what is right things will never get better, Sorry.
For those of you that don’t believe In God, thats you right.
November 6th, 2008 10:35
Hey Eric, I think you better go educate yourself on IQ’s bubba, it’s quite obvious you’re blowing smoke out your rear end.
Obama — IQ of 150 to 170????
Read ANY of his material prior to his “autobiographies”, which it has now been suggested he DID NOT write. Read previous material and you will quckly find that Mr. Obama cannot put two coherent sentences together either. He is Manchurian canidate, and the sooner you figure that out, the better off you will be.
Mark my words — even the blacks will be calling him Uncle Tom within 18 months.
November 6th, 2008 10:37
Sandra, I’d ask you to elaborate. What things have we done wrong that we need to remedy? And do you think that it is possible for a fallen people to live a sin-free life?
November 6th, 2008 10:46
Consider your words marked, Jim.
November 6th, 2008 11:36
DAVE B 00:28 post…
Would have been a landslide?? you obviously have different parameters to define a “landslide” . Personally over 6 million more votes cast for Obama, currently 349 electoral votes as opposed to 162 for Mc Cain..sure seems like a
LANDSLIDE of epic proportions from where most realists sit.
November 6th, 2008 11:41
Yankees fan-
There were fewer voters in 2008 than in 2004. I wouldn’t call it a landslide in numbers of votes…..I believe there were only about 8 miillion more voters who voted for Obama than for McCain. Since Democrats are, by and large, very self-centered thinking the whole world revolves around them, in sickness and in health, you are wrong, as usual.
November 6th, 2008 11:43
These spurious allegations are made by faceless gutless cowards who are still trying for their own personal political gain to trash this woman. Doesnt know that Africa is a continent? Right. Doesnt know what countries are in North America? Sorry slimeballs, that dog dont hunt!
November 6th, 2008 11:47
Karen, I’m a conservative who is able to view things in a non-biased way. We elect people based on the Electoral College. Thus, based on the only system that matters in electing Presidents, it was a landslide. For that same reason, George Bush was the rightful winner of the 2000 election.
November 6th, 2008 11:48
Sorry it took so long just got back to the computer. Yankees Fan, To start off with you’re question about living a sin free life, no, I don’t believe any of us can go a day without doing things we should not do.(We’re human) but again it parallels with how we react to our children we love.
When our children go against our wishes and come to us with an understanding they have hurt us and see’s the need to do better next time, there is no parent in his right mind that won’t forgive him.(Same is true for God)
It’s those children who go against what they no to be right and never have any remorse what so ever.
Their lives will never be as good as it could be and more times than not their parents have to just give up and let be what will be with them.(As with God athough he still loves us) Contrary to what some think God allows us to make up our on mind.
What things we have done wrong? This Question is only answered by knowing who God, is and what his word says.
There is nothing I can tell you that you don’t want to hear, the same is true with each of us.
I’m no different than anyone else,if I don’t have a heart to know I will never see my faults.
This country has turned it’s back on God, our creator, how would you react if you truly loved you’re children (if you have any) and they turned their backs on you.
My prayer for each of us is that we will be willing to search for the truth, and not lean on our on understanding!
November 6th, 2008 11:56
Before you say anything, yes I know I missed spelled a couple of things.( In to big of a hurry! no(know) on(own) My bad.
November 6th, 2008 12:08
I think if people attacked your argument based on your spelling, it says plenty about their own perspective. This blog needs to install some spell check functions
November 6th, 2008 12:13
What is a country to do that was founded on the principles (with Christian influence) that it would govern separate from any formalized religion? Are we destined to be doomed?
November 6th, 2008 12:14
Easy. Religion should play no role at all in the political process.
Problem solved.
November 6th, 2008 12:23
no matter what anybody says if Obama would have kept his word which he didn’t and run on public money MCcain and palin would have been elected
Obama has proved he is dishonest and doesn’t know how to handle money workers for Obama are pissed because his campain is screwing them out of money telling them the check is in the mail …haven’t we all heard that before
simple facts 2 days after elected and he is screwing poor people that believed in him
November 6th, 2008 12:26
David, McCain wouldn’t have accepted public fundraising if he thought he could outraise Obama.
There was no way McCain was going to win this election. Stop deluding yourself.
November 6th, 2008 12:29
To say, David M., that McCain would have won if Obama used public money is really silly. The second part of the post is a developing story. Let’s wait and see what happens and give him the benefit of the doubt.
November 6th, 2008 12:29
Here’s hoping Sarah Palin will take Ted Stevens seat in the Senate and return quickly to the national stage. I could give a rats *** what Fox or McCain’s little bitter people or anybody else says about her, she’s my candidate in 2012. And the notion that she didn’t know Africa was a continent is a joke, right? Seriously, a joke…
November 6th, 2008 12:30
I don’t believe any of this about Sarah Palin. What I do know is that John McCain is not a conservative and he used her to get my vote. Had she not been on the ticket he would have lost the popular vote by a huge margin. And now this…I’m stunned that Fox would run this story without named sources. Sarah is more powerful and to be feared than even she can know for the republicans to be trashing her this way. McCain should have already put a stop to this but his silence is deafening and something tells me that he knows who was driving his ticket and it sure wasn’t him. Bruised ego? You betcha!
November 6th, 2008 12:30
The sooner repubs figure out they lost because they have no message and not because of public financing, the better.

Whoa Sandra … leave your religious rhetoric at home where it belongs. Welcome to America, a country based on religious freedom and separation of church and state. I’m sure you hold your beliefs very close to your heart … but there are a lot of people who disagree with you and your “morality”. I am tired of the uneducated religious right who feels they have to enforce their “morality” myth based beliefs on an entire country. Let me tell you something, Iran has the same thing … woman cannot drive and have to cover their hair in that country. Religion and government do not belong together, and America is a great country because of this first amendment right.
November 6th, 2008 12:36
Scholar in Training,
I agree, Religion can be any group of fanatics. It should solely make decisions based on Gods, word ( True christianity ) Don’t you think.
November 6th, 2008 12:36
Well, I don’t think it’s that simple, Scholar. McCain separates himself from Bush a bit more and this is a pretty different election. Hope and change was the consistent “vision” from Obama. A better run campaign and Obama’s “vision” becomes very shaky.
November 6th, 2008 12:41
Obama couldn’t have won without the 700 million he had which will most likely get him impeached and yours is only a speculation about MCcain no facts to back it up.
but it is very questionable where all of Obamas money came from with a 2300 dollar cap on contributions it kinda looks like more people gave than voted for him lol look at the votes and look at the amounts is doesn’t figure out and while Obama is very intelligent so is a fox but so smart as to be cunning and sneaky and get off The Palin bandwagon she had more experience with economics that Obama MCcain and Biden Alaska Buget 89 billion in the red when Palin took office and at the start of he Campain for VP 69 billion surplus facts that don’t lie what buget has Obama fixed ? all you kool aid drinking followers start commenting on facts instead of speculation and by the way I doubt that half that gave to Obama could give the whole 2300 dollars making it even more fishy his aunt couldn’t give more that 260 dollars
November 6th, 2008 12:46
? Confused.
November 6th, 2008 12:48
You have elected the “King” you want to be President. He will ???? provide all your needs, wishes, in place of God. Let the dust settle. When you start crying, praying, begging for help from the many changes that are coming. God will let you keep your “King.” And the results.
November 6th, 2008 12:52
Here we go on the conspiracy bandwagon David M. According to bloomberg news … Obama raised 650 million donated by 3 million people. I did the math … that’s an average of $216 a person. I donated $500 so did a couple friends of mine. No conspiracy here … just a bunch of American patriots trying to see the country lead by an intelligent candidate … Palin’s incoherent interviews were enough to send me running to Obama’s ticket. Thats not taking into account her very EXTREME position on abortion … she just did not sell herself to me … in fact she scared me. To bad McCain could not pick a more articulate candidate but combined with his age … there was NO WAY I would vote for him.
November 6th, 2008 12:52
Banana,
You are free to express as I’m I , and trust me wiyhout trying to sound rude, I am not uneducated.
My beliefs has nothing to do with opression.
You will see in the near future what I am talking about.
This is only a great country because at first it embraced christianity.
November 6th, 2008 12:54
The integrity, dignity and truthfulness with which Sarah campaigned was greatly appreciated. A breath of fresh air in the midst of much confusion, untruths, mud-slinging and media backout which kept a lot from the American people. History is doomed to repeat itself. Study the history of Cuba.
November 6th, 2008 12:55
jus what message did Obama have except for his battle cry “we need change” well real change with Obama would have to be clearing out the democratic congress which believe it or not had a lower approval rate than Bush did …so i see it a just a half change and I may have voted for Obama if he picked Hillary for VP instead of the idiot Biden that can’t help but trip over his stupid tongue time and time again and talk bad about palin but it was decided by the masses she beat Biden in their debate
November 6th, 2008 12:55
Anyone who thinks that a Governor of a State like Alaska involved in inter-country commerce can’t name the countries that are a part of NAFTA is completely without any sense.
To think that this woman doesn’t know that Africa is a continent? How stupid and gullible can you people Be???
This is hands down the greatest load of childish bullshit ever to hit the net. Any moron with a half-twit glob of brain matter between his or her two ears can see that these are nothing more than the rantings of a completely incompetent group of has-been losers. McCain and his camp had these kinds of problems long before Palin came onto the scene.
November 6th, 2008 12:59
se banawait till the report comes out next month he exceeded 600 million in september by the end he had collected about 711 billion dollars and he is cheating his workers out of money boy I can wait to see him trying to balance the budget
November 6th, 2008 12:59
First to Obama’s money: over 12 million donors at around 58 dollars a pop could easily have raised this money, when you add in the benefits and fundraisers(rubber chickens) in Hollywood, the numbers required are a lot smaller. My wife and I gave 138 dollars each in small donations throughout the campaign, while supporting local candidates who were more conservative with a few other dollars. We’re fiscally conservative, socially liberal types, who prefer to leave people alone and allow anyone who would take their right away, shoot those responsible or in the attempt. No, we’re not libertarians.
Second: I chuckled at the infighting and initially believed the Fox smear, but I think this is actually probably false or severely exaggerated. I think she was plucked too early. She comes from a state with a population smaller than most major cities, and thusly comes from a softer kind of politics that is more on gut reactions than careful recitations of fact and figures–you use it or lose it and I think she never had the pressure of answering under the Socratic method, that both McCain and Obama suffered through in College. McCain’s campaign went full blown nasty with this campaign, calling Obama a racist, terrorist, traitor, and with each word of stupidity and lack of action, McCain lost another voter. McCain should have been president in 2000. I think he’d have crushed Gore in a landslide not seen since Reagan stomped in 1984. All that aside, you can only run a nasty campaign by employing nasty people, and those nasty people only play this politics thing as a game. A game they like to lose. Nasty people don’t have off switches. They continue until they say they’re done, and right now they still want to hurt people until they win.
Today it’s Palin, next they’ll move on to Bush, and then back again to McCain.
The best thing for all worlds is to set all of them aside, look for some reasonable centrist thinkers to take the helm in two years and win some seats from people who want to reinstate checks and balances.
November 6th, 2008 13:03
Here’s are my problems with Palin:
1. Not enough experience or knowledge.
2. She believes the dinosaurs roamed here 6,000 years ago and probably expects that everyone should believe in her version of reality (Jesus, for example).
3. She believes in teaching abstinence-only in school, yet believes out of wedlock pregnancy for a 17 year old girl is ok..
4. She believes that her god wants us to kill and be killed in Iraq.
5. She inspires millions of narrow-minded people to follow her in her challenged thinking and opinions.
I am absolutely tranquil over her loss with McCain.
November 6th, 2008 13:07
this is really a common sense question seeing as this election turned to economics wouldn’t an intelligent person vote for someone that had experience with that?
Obama balancing budget ….no experience
MCcain balancing budget….no experience
Biden balancing budget…..no experience
Palin not only balancing budget but leaving 69 billion dollars surplus alaska maybe small but wouldn’t it be great if the USA had a 69Billion dollar surplus in our budget its not much but a hell of alot better than a trillion dollar in the red
no nasty comments just think REALLY think not matter what you democrats think Palin has the most economics experience at trimming the fat
November 6th, 2008 13:13
Sandra,
Let me guess you’re Christian and you’re right. Everyone else is wrong if they don’t agree with you. To bad we do not live in such a black and white world.
Religion in the wrong hands is very dangerous. Religion in a governments control is even more dangerous. History has show most major wars and mass deaths were because of religion. Look at the Crusades … even Christianity has had its downfalls. We can all have different beliefs and live together without enforcing our morals on each other.
BTW … Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, James Madison … all founding fathers, their speeches show distinct influence of deism. So to make a blanket statement that the United States of America was based on Christian beliefs … is a misnomer.
November 6th, 2008 13:18
hey david,
If Obama can raise 711 billion dollars, then he can save wall street and save the tax payer a lot of grief for the next decade. LOL!! Seriously … I’m just not buying your theory.
November 6th, 2008 13:22
Uh, check your math. No way Alaska had a 69 Billion with a B budget surplus. The State Budget is 11 Billion dollars. The State Budget of North Carolina is around 22 Billion, for more than 10 times as many people. As a matter of fact, that’s over 15,000 dollars spent per man, woman and child in Alaska. There’s no other state in the Union that does that, not even California.
California, under a true conservative “Governator” only has a budget of 103 Billion for a population spends less than 3000 dollars per person. Alaska gives half that to every resident in the State.
Palin was not a fiscal conservative, she was a social conservative. There’s a big difference, and if the Republican party wants to win again, we need someone who can be something of both and still open minded enough to keep Government from growing.
Smaller Government, One war at a time, and we’ll get a Republican in 2012.
November 6th, 2008 13:28
Can someone name obama’s “57″ states
November 6th, 2008 13:30
Banana,
Yes, I am a christian and no I do not believe I’m the only one who has it right.
I agree religion in the wrong hands can be dangerous, and we could go on and on and on——-so to make it simple, go back and read # 50 . I think I explained myself pretty well.
Oh! Just so you know I’m not trying to get out of this conversation, Got to be in Penn. by morning. I live in Ga. so if you would like to finish this topic feel free to email me sandra51shepherd@yahoo.com
November 6th, 2008 13:32
Thank you Frank Sapa.
I wholeheartedly agree. Her views are very extreme and and I am a moderate that believes in separation of church and state.
November 6th, 2008 13:36
McCain is a great man and would have been a great president. It was obvious that he had his reasons for his ineptness and his choice of running mate. He knew that the United States had to get out of the hands of the Republican right.
Our country was NOT founded on religion. The English came here to escape religious persecution. Of course, they stayed to persecute those who didn’t agree with their religion. We cannot be a christian nation because we must believe in freedom to worship. Any other stance leads to totalitarianism.
November 6th, 2008 13:46
Jesus Christ!
When has a Vice Presidential candidate ever been raked over the coals like this woman has?!? What qualifications did Dan Quayle have? For that matter what qualifications did Bill Clinton have? He was Governor of an ass backwards state called Arkansas! And he was running for President!! Her attackers are not being consistent here, it was not Obama vs. Palin. The VP has always been a joke of a position, but the media chose to steamroll her, for that and other reasons they have absolutely no credibility left. It was Obama Vs. McCain, you have made Obama president, now get ready to live with it.
November 6th, 2008 13:49
No not religion, Christianity. There is a difference. The persecution they were trying to escape was religious, a religion that had been set in place to make the people do what they were told to do to please their king, not the true and living God, they had come to know.
November 6th, 2008 13:54
Sandra, you really believe the US is a great nation because it embraced Christianity? Is that why they killed millions of inhabitants? Cause they were so great, and Godly? Throw away your bible and look around. Make up your own mind, cause you’re just spewing the same garbage that was spewed hundreds of years ago. Let’s keep it real.
November 6th, 2008 13:55
Now why can’t religion play part in America? It’s in national documents. His name was used by the founding fathers. They were not for one religion running the government, like in England, but not for leaving God out of politics. Religion keeps you from having lone guns saying God told them to kill this person or that. Not every religion is playing with a full deck [including the unofficial "new atheist" one that's declared war on Christianity (though it's ancestors have had their Rousseaus, Galtons and Margaret Sangers in the past) and the values of it that made America great by saying hateful things about conservatives being dumb and the unborn being non-persons, penalizing students who disagree with their far-left rubbish and then having the audacity to preach to us about love--they have their hypocrites too], but the one from the Bible is and the kind of Babtist Palin is is a heart-beat from it in social teachings. America will be held accountable for voting for an infanticidal maniac like Obama and those who are guilty by association.
God help the liberal clergy people who diss God if true charity is a hard choice in this world of sentimentality. That’s really what Obama’s people counted on: the busy life people who want to feel good about themselves, the greedy ones and the sentimental ones. I think he is a Manchurian candidate, like one said. We are surrounded by socialist nations that either take private property away or the freedom of pastors who speak against gay marriage away and now we are ripe to become one. Other nations, not so socialist, wanted him. There may not need to be a WW3 to make a socialist Pax Romanus. I’m not even sure GHWB and GWB weren’t members of these NWO orders with their jobs going one direction, soldiers going the other way., and sovereignty going who knows where as we owe so many countries (though some of that could have been by the Democrat majority who ruined the banks and are now in power to give more money to the poor our country doesn’t even have any backing for). There may be a cataclysm once this Tower of Babel is complete or maybe before.
Biden believes man made global warming. Have we made the other planets warm up too? We do help it along, but Liberals build things and use gas powered vehicles as well. That won’t change, since money talks in Washington and ideals walk and thus, do those who’d bring real change, like the clarity in thinking that comes with being a Christian who lives her beliefs. It won’t cost socialists much to round up outspoken Christians. I think they could find plenty of tolerant people to throw those with opposing viewpoints in prison or asylums and there’s plenty who’d give away their unborn and infirm as donations to mad science.
Even Einstein and Durkheim, who felt religion was man-made, saw religion’s role in science and society. It keeps the ones mad from sex, drugs, and/or greed from running the country and who said they have to be in Congress or the highest office to do that? Those in the background are usually the most powerful in society–educators, the mob, and yes, even religion (though the latter, if Catholic, would at least contain wisdom about self-control and responsibility for those who care to follow than the new atheists will).
There’s still hope as the gay “marriage” propositions passed. Also, McCain’s campaign did have plenty of popular votes. Still, that’s the good God will give us in the midst of evil. He will not abandon us but, as a parent, we’ve got a good whoopin’ cummin!
November 6th, 2008 13:58
First, the kind of infighting which beset the McCain campaign in its last month was a very bad omen for how he would run the country as an administrator.
Second, Palin in July on tv said she didn’t know what the VP did. That’s a fact. Then in the VP debate, and again in a later tv interview, she ascribed to the VP far more powers than the VP actually has. In that interview, she notoriously failed a question about the duties of the VP asked by a third grader.
More: She couldn’t answer the soft-ball questions Katie Curic served up to her. She didn’t know what the Buch Doctrine was when Charlie Gibson asked her, and failed embarrasingly in her attempt to fake her way out of that. She outright lied about “I told Congress ‘thanks but no thanks” for the bridge to nowhere” and she kept on lying about it when it had become a proven lie–it simply didn’t bother her.
She attacked Obama for his association Ayers (who is a despicable person), but at the same time her own husband belonged until 2002 to the Alaska Independence Party which advocated secession of Alaska from the U.S. and whose founder frequently made hate-filled statements about the U.S. which were similar to those of the infamous Reverand Wright and Ayers. And yet she WAS NEVER EVER ASKED ABOUT HER HUSBAND’S POLITICAL ASSOCIATIONS. Or the fact that in 2008 (NOT 1968!) she taped an official welcome as governor to the AIP state convention. She was never asked about this, either.
She was never asked about Pastor Muthee, the anti-semite who blessed her and asked Jesus to protect her from WITCHES. She didn’t object. It’s on video.
Jim, way above, says that “it has now been suggested” that Obama didn’t write any of his books. Suggested by WHOM? And on what BASIS? “Suggestions” from an anonymous source are not the same as facts, Jim!
November 6th, 2008 14:15
Jason get with the real world My wife worked for 15 years as a waitress don’t cut her down cause she did work and this is not racist at all a racist comment which when demcrats caught with their pants down have used calling anyone not agreeing with them as racist we live in Texas and as far as tips go blacks and hispanics tip very poorly or not at all…. a good number voting for Obama didn’t donate much if anything at all they just don’t have the money to spend on anything but basic life they may have voted but powering the obama money machine its very doubtful broke is broke and feeding you family when your broke means no contributions to anyone but the landlord the grocery store the untilities and clothes haven’t your heard people are loosing their jobs and houses can’t afford healthcare and food you really are gullible if you think over 700 billion dollars can honestly …they will force Obam to release his contribution records the presidents life is always forced into the public republican and democrats alike
November 6th, 2008 14:21
So let me see if I get this right….
McCain picks Palin on August 30th. At this point, McCain is trailing in the polls by 6 points or so.
Palin makes her convention speech on September 3rd. By all accounts, she does terrifically, and combined with McCain’s speech the next night, the ticket crafts a consistent and resonant message to counter Obama’s mantra about “change”:
“We’re going to put country ahead of party and reform Washington.”
Momentum shifts. As of September 13, McCain takes the lead in polls. Obama’s camp and compliant media are obsessed with Palin, but can find no weapon that gains enough traction to regain their momentum.
The mortgage/credit crisis hits, and McCain and his team are thrown off-balance. He seems to lurch in one direction, then another. He suspends his campaign, goes to Washington, and does….well, not much. He goes along with a bloated and unpopular bailout bill. Instead of rightly pointing out that it was Democratic policies that caused the problem, he points to “Wall Street Greed”, playing right into the Left’s anti-capitalism message. By the end of September, Obama is up 6-8 points again, and those numbers stay consistent right through election day.
A person on McCain’s staff who had some personal integrity would focus on him/herself and what they did wrong and/or what they might have done differently. A person on McCain’s staff with little to no integrity would try to exculpate themselves from blame by pointing fingers at someone who was already a media pinata.
Is it possible that Palin really thought that Africa was a country, not a continent? About as possible that Obama really thought there were 57 states in the union. Would not a more likely scenario be that whatever her words were, they were taken out of context by the ‘leaker’ for self-serving purposes? Similarly, is it not more probable that she may have asked confirming questions about NAFTA that have been self-servingly misconstrued to “she didn’t know which counties are in NAFTA!”?
As to her “shopping”, I really wish the McCain camp ‘leakers’ would get their story straight. It was the RNC that paid for it and the staff that did the shopping. No, wait, it was a wealthy donor and Palin did the shopping. No, wait, it was her own handlers doing the shopping using their own credit cards. No, wait…
And as for the bath towel thing, I suppose if she made them wait in the hall while she got dressed and applied her make-up, that would be rude; if she had them sit and watch as she got dressed, that would certainly be putting them in an awkward situation. But to answer the door (with Todd likely either a) in the bathroom or b) getting dressed himself) and directing them to visit with Todd while she dressed…..what’s the problem here? Seems like much to do about nothing.
There are those who who confidently predict that she has no future in national politics, yet even after the election, they can’t stop talking about her.
November 6th, 2008 14:29
Jason I don’t have to do any math check with the alaskan budget report 89 billion in the red at takeover 69 billion surplus when she started campaining and to boot eveyone in alaska gets a check from oil companies even children Palin got the amount increased almost 4 times over for evey citizen in alaska
stop beating a dead dog FACT she is the only one with executive experienceand she is closer to being an ordinary citizen than Obama or MCcain she was picked to be a scape goat funny that all the rumors against her were dismissed after early voting smells like democratic poop to me 2 days after the election police had to be called to calm the crowd of Omaba workers getting screwed at least Obama could have waited a week before showing what he is really about ….Obama is in trouble he wont be able to fart in public without someone watching him and 3 hours after getting elected russia states its deploying missles right outside of Poland pointed at Europe 3 Hours can’t you people see what the mistake is now Obama has alot of strong words he better find his big stick
November 6th, 2008 14:31
Sarah Palin is not qualified forthe position of vp period.Economically, politically, morally, geographically, name it. A country as great as the united states of America with its enormous wealth of potentials and resources, could have simply made itself the laughing stock of the world if it had allowed such a candidate to be elected to such a sensitive position. Being governor of Alaska is not enough. Whats the population of Alaska? Can Sarah Palin get elected to the position of Governor in a State like Texas? or even California? Thank God, you got serious and voted in the right people
November 6th, 2008 14:34
castigating her right now that the election is over is not of any consequence however. the fact is that everyone including gyours truly is relieved that she didnt get farhter than where she currently is. We can let it rest at that
November 6th, 2008 14:43
[...] Michelle Malkin has organized an online petition to give to Sarah Palin thanking her for running for the VP. Those of you who like Palin, feel free to sign. Those of you who don’t, feel free to leave nasty comments in the comment section of the petition (or here): [...]
November 6th, 2008 14:55
It’s time to wake up. Sarah Palin was a disaster. She’s the Howard Dean of the right. The further right, the more you like her, the closer to center the more you don’t. Her future is her past. Alaska. The McCain campaign can blame her, she can blame her handlers, but the fact is he should’ve never asked her and when he did she should’ve said no. I’m convinced the VP choice lost the election. A Romney could’ve spoken from authority in an economic crisis, a Leiberman could’ve brought in independents and jews, a Tom Ridge would’ve won Virginia and probably Pennsylvania. The whole thing was a clusterf***k from the day she joined. That’s not her fault, she worked hard and did her absolute best… It’s John McCain’s fault for running possibly the worst Presidential campaign I’ve seen since Gracie Allen.
November 6th, 2008 14:58
David M, you’re a liar. The Budget surplus of Alaska is 1 to 2 billion dollars depending on the rise in oil prices, minus the rebate planned for high energy costs this winter.
It took two seconds to google it from the Alaskan Budget website. The Spreadsheets can even be downloaded.
As to donations, Obama’s largest number of supporters came from Whites. He could not get elected without them, so even if your garbage about tipping were true there were over 30 million whites who voted for Obama who could have picked up the tab.
The Republicans gave a bad campaign. the Democrats weren’t much better, but the smears were smaller than the ones the Republicans were shoveling. Elizabeth Dole was losing in my state but she lost 2 points the second she started the Godless ads about Kay Hagan. It was dirty, and it was unamerican and when McCain and Palin did the same, they should have been ashamed as well. My 86 year old Grandfather served Nixon, Carter, and Reagan and voted for Obama because of the disgrace of it all, and he served honorably in WW2 with McCain’s father. Think he didn’t want to vote for the oldest President in history? He couldn’t because nothing honorable was left to vote for.
McCain should have been president in 2000. He’d have trounced Gore instead of slipping by with a tight win because of the disgust of the average voter. Atwater to Rove, this has been a disgusting series of events for the Republican party. We should have been the ones with the first Black President. Harriet Beecher Stowe’s novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin was the champion call of the Abolitionist movement and the Abolitionists were the first Republicans.
How did the party of the Dixiecrats nominate and elect a Black Man for president and get him elected before the party that freed the slaves?
Disgraceful!
We need to clean house and clean it good.
November 6th, 2008 15:18
Check out this article, it may be Sarah is done as governor and some of the fine outstanding Republican representatives in Alaska may be sharing a cell with Ted Stevens in the near future: http://alaskareport.com/news1108/x61735_alaska_election_2737595.htm
November 6th, 2008 15:21
Alex said… There was never any point at which she said she did not know what a VP does.
From her interview with Larry Kudlow in July, 2008:
“As for that VP talk all the time, I’ll tell you, I still can’t answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day? I’m used to being very productive and working real hard in an administration. We want to make sure that that VP slot would be a fruitful type of position, especially for Alaskans and for the things that we’re trying to accomplish up here for the rest of the U.S., before I can even start addressing that question.”
November 6th, 2008 15:38
Alex said… By the way, her description of what the VP does is exactly what article II of the Constitution says he does.
Uh, no. Her answer was:
“[T]hey’re in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom.”
This is incorrect. First, they are not “in charge of” the U.S. Senate. They can cast tie breaker votes, and they preside over the official vote tally of the Electoral College. They do not run the Senate. That would be the job of the Senate Majority Leader.
Second, they can’t “get in there” and they don’t “make a lot of good policy changes”. They sit on no committees, and they can not involved themselves in Senate debates as every Senator can. In fact, they can be told to leave (and this has happened in the past).
Can they make their opinions known to the Senate? Sure, but only with permission. If I gained permission, so could I. That’s not a power of the V-P.
In short, Palin had no clue what she’s talking about. That seems to be a habit with her.
November 6th, 2008 15:45
DaSid, if Sarah Palin is the Republican version of Howard Dean, does that mean that she should be put in charge of the RNC?
November 6th, 2008 15:52
Jason again you show yourself uninformed 12600000 blacks voted for Obama use google 905 of blacks regestered to vote voted for Obama that doesn’t account for the hispanic vote once again showing Democrats address should be fantasy land at disney world and by the way nimrod I plainly said at the start of he vp run there was a surplus of 69 billion dollars not today and 89 billion in the red to a surplus of 11 billion is still way more than Obama has done Jason you have lost all your credibilty here with your fact twisting
November 6th, 2008 15:55
and Jason Bush isn’t from the south
November 6th, 2008 15:58
Yes, please run Palin again. I can’t wait to see fiscal conservatives peeled away from social conservatives, pro-environment conservatives from anti-environment conservatives, smart conservatives from anti-intellectual red neck Nascar conservatives, 9 month respect for lifers vs. entire life respecters. You cannot have it both ways, and continuing Palin as a tradition will divide your party by at least half. Go for it.
November 6th, 2008 15:58
Bush isn’t from the south but….johnson ,Carter and Clinton are and we know what kind of turds they left the US hanging with
November 6th, 2008 15:59
Dillon your post kinda has racial overtones to it
November 6th, 2008 16:00
Teddy asked… do you really believe that if she wasnt smart, alaskans would vote in the thousands for her?
Yes. After all, it looks like they just re-elected a 7 count felon.
David M. said… Palin not only balancing budget but leaving 69 billion dollars surplus alaska maybe small but wouldn’t it be great if the USA had a 69Billion dollar surplus in our budget its not much but a hell of alot better than a trillion dollar in the red no nasty comments just think REALLY think not matter what you democrats think Palin has the most economics experience at trimming the fat
Uh, David, you DO realize that she placed a windfall profits tax on the oil companies, right? (For now, we’ll ignore the fact that Alaska consistently receives one of the highest per capita federal earmark amounts each year.) So if you like Sarah’s fiscal policy, then all you have to do is get the government to crank up tax rates, particularly on all natural resources extracted from U.S. soil. Good luck with that.
BigJim-KY said… When has a Vice Presidential candidate ever been raked over the coals like this woman has?!?
It happened the last time a V-P candidate refused any and all press conferences. Oh,wait. That’s never happened. Even Quayle gave his first press conference the day after he was announced. Why didn’t Sarah ever give one single press conference? Because the McCain campaign was scared to death of what inane things would spill out of her mouth.

The rest of what story?
November 6th, 2008 16:21
LFC at least Palin has done something whats Obama’s record ?
Here is a pretty good list of what he did in the Senate, and it’s from 2 years ago. I’ll take that list of accomplishments over Sarah’s “executive experience” of failures any day. Actually, her entire record of accomplishments they tout seems to be smoke and mirrors. Other than a windfall profits tax, I don’t see that she’s done much in a competent fashion. Plus, she performed the same sin as GW by putting friends in good paying positions for which they are totally unqualified.
and LFC Im glad the windfall tax is high on oil companies does the name Valdez rign a bell alaska never has collected the entire debt owed from that fiasco
Uuuuuh, you don’t understand who ultimately pays that windfall tax, do you? Hint: The oil companies ain’t takin’ a loss.
You might also take some time to read Andrew Sullivan’s The Odd Lies of Sarah Palin, a list cataloging some of the multiple falsehoods that have tumbled out of her mouth. I actually think she’s got a problem. Every politician spins, but it takes a “special” person to say that black is white, when overwhelming evidence to the contrary is staring you in the face (Bridge to Nowhere being the first example that comes to mind).
November 6th, 2008 16:25
Dang Chhas hell of a job
November 6th, 2008 16:26
that islamic states are on Obama’s mind and not the United States when he made that blunder
November 6th, 2008 16:28
Conspiracy theories are for the uninformed. Obama doesn’t love the Arab nations more than he loves this country, just like Sarah Palin’s newborn was her baby and not her daughters as a cover up.
November 6th, 2008 16:32
ya’ll Democrats have nothing to be proud of as far a past presidents go remember clinton deregulated the housing market cause he told people in his campain that everyone would have a house he just left out that is was only for a little while and OMG bill had Obama and let him go
and I didn’t vote Democratic or republican but me being a southern man obama should be ashamed of himself trying to completely ruin 2 Ladies in this election he is no gentleman I think it would be just for Hillary and Palin to have 30 minutes alone with Obama and bring bandaids Hell has no furry like a woman scorned
November 6th, 2008 16:35
I think you mean Clinton had Osama, not Obama…perhaps your own Freudian slip (pretty telling). And Obama never disrespected either Palin or Clinton. Now if you want to argue the media dragged both through the mud (much to Clinton’s surprise), then I’m on board in agreement. But Obama really kept himself outside of all of that garbage…you are making assumptions.
November 6th, 2008 16:36
hey Fan what do you have for Proof what Obama loves his word everyone knows that he is less than honest and Democrates almost half of the country including the stock market is scared of Obama half the country thats alot of people for all of us being wrong and and almost 3 million blacks regestered to vote didn’t vote Obama
November 6th, 2008 16:45
I agree that Sarah Palin is not ready to be VP or President (God forbid, as they say). She was plucked out of nowhere by the McCain folks with no vetting and used – yes USED – to appeal to their base and try to get the women’s vote. It backfired on them. And now they want you to hate Sarah for it. Just one of many reasons I voted for Obama.
I’m tired of the GOP pandering to their “base”, which includes ignorant country folk, skinheads, and people who think Earth is only 10,000 years old because they added up the ages of the people in the Bible (who lived to be 900, by the way) and came up with that figure. Time for everyone, Republican and Democrat, to move to the middle and govern for the majority.
November 6th, 2008 16:46
Check out the expose in Newsweek, Palin is an idiot. I hope the neocons make her the new face and leader of their splintered party.
November 6th, 2008 16:50
Sarah Palin is a nut job!! Many people like to subscribe to her magical powers and bringing the base support to McCain, BUT, the fact is MOST of America isnt conservative OR Republican, so big deal. To win the Presidency, you have to convince the 3/4 non Republicans that you are up to the job. Whatever happened to majority counting in America? Thats the problem, and what Americans are tired of;Republicans thinking their way is the only way. Sarah palin won the base, but the rest of the country thinks shes crap (by about 60%). Republicans will never win another Presidency till they get off their high horse and stop picking idiots. We were fooled once with g Bush, but never again. Sarah Palin will never have a chance in 2012, because first impressions are lasting. She is the laughing stock of America. Anyone who says she is as qualified as Obama is an idiot as well. You cannot compare a Governor of a small state (700,000) to a Senator who was elected by millions of votes cast, and who must also understand and cast votes on issues effecting this country and the world. You Republicans are always trying to make something so just because you say it is. How has that worked out for you lately? Until the Republicans turn to honesty, they will never again be allowed in power. The supposed godly evangicals and extremist who Represent what the party is are the most Unchristian people who ever cast a vote
November 6th, 2008 16:52
I suppose there is no proof that Obama loves his country, but hey, I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt. The stock market is not a person, so it cannot be afraid of Obama, but investors are nervous about the uncertainty of a new leader, (likely that the same would have happened with John McCain) and its not like stocks were doing well prior to election day. And, David M., not everyone who voted for John McCain is “afraid” of Obama. It is very possible that they thought McCain would just do the better job.
Schaumburg Guy – you are right to call for everyone to move to the middle; however, the person to take the lead is Obama…it makes me nervous that he’s throwing around names like John Kerry for Secretary of State – a man who is nowhere near the middle.
November 6th, 2008 16:54
First, David M., take a little time when typing. Your stream of consciousness looks a bit like the transcribed rantings of a meth addict. Just slow down a bit and it will make more sense.
but me being a southern man obama should be ashamed of himself trying to completely ruin 2 Ladies in this election he is no gentleman
So everybody is supposed to treat “ladies” who run for President differently than we treat men … why? Will the leaders of Iran, Russia, China, etc. treat a female President more gently? Sorry, but if we’re going to have a female President or V-P, I want somebody like Margaret Thatcher who can stand up for themselves.
Clinton did get tough treatment from the press over the sniper fire BS, and deservedly so. Palin got it for her lie about the Bridge to Nowhere, which she repeated for nearly 2 weeks after it was thoroughly debunked. Obama had to face a lot of bad press on Tony Rezko (before the paper most involved in the story admitted they had nothing), and Rev. Wright. McCain was protected from his gaffes and flip-flips by a friendly press for months, but finally had to face them. Having your life picked apart and your words scrutinized are all part of the process of Presidential politics.
As to Obama, what things did he say about Clinton or Palin (or McCain) that was patently untrue or were a character assassination? You know, like pretty much all of the McCain-Palin campaign.
November 6th, 2008 16:59
Maybe the AIP will renew its call for secession and Caribou Barbie can be their first president doggone it.
November 6th, 2008 17:06
Poor disillusioned GOP, I am one grateful Democrat. Your choice of VP was masterful, central casting could not have found a more ditzy broad. I believe John McCain could have won the White house, if he went with his own choices and not attempted to pacify. Thank you, for being so one dimensional. No need to reply, because I’m moving on.
November 6th, 2008 17:07
YankeesFan-I didn’t hear Obama throwing anyone’s name around. It’s all Capitol Hill gossip and speculation by the media. I truly believe that Mr. Obama knows his every move is going to be scrutinized – as a liberal, as a Democrat, as someone “inexperienced”, and most importantly, as an African-American. He is the first and he will be the standard bearer.
You know there is a huge portion of our population foaming at the mouth waiting to say “see, gave it to a black guy and he couldn’t do it.” I know that Obama feels the full weight of this, and he will work doubly hard to make sure that all voices are heard, valued, respected, and considered in his decision-making. A quality that has been SORELY missing for AT LEAST eight years.
November 6th, 2008 17:14
Schaumburg Guy, way to assume that the majority of this nation is racist. And no, Obama has not mentioned it, but these leaks don’t come out of nowhere. In fact the Gov. of Massachusetts was accepting questions regarding what he would do in the event that Kerry was selected.
November 6th, 2008 17:14
SBMJ said… Check out the expose in Newsweek, Palin is an idiot. I hope the neocons make her the new face and leader of their splintered party.
Not me. It is now more than obvious that the current incarnation of the GOP is a disaster, and the people recognize that fact. I’d like to see the GOP track towards smaller government, fiscally responsibility, less intrusion in people’s lives, and non-interventionist foreign policy. That would actually mean rejecting the neocons. I realize that’s an enormous shift for the party, but it would provide a needed balance for the most left-wing segments of the Democratic Party.
I firmly believe that divided government is usually best, but only when both sides are competent and put their country ahead of their own ambitions. As the past decade has shown, the GOP isn’t anywhere close at this time.
November 6th, 2008 17:16
There is a god, that’s all I know. Go Obama! Thank heavens McCain did not get elected. I cannot imagine 4 more years of holy roller BS! Palin is even worse than Bush. The dinosaurs coexisted with humans… Feminist??? NOT I’m just glad the American people were able to see through the BS and elect a decent president this time. Lord knows he couldn’t do any worse than the last 8 years!
November 6th, 2008 17:18
Philip.
Wow. That was four paragraphs on incomprehensible blathering.
Clearly you are not familiar with the US Constitution. I beg you to find 1 reference to the word God in the US Constitution. Then I dare you to read the first amendment again, you will notice that this is the only place in the constitution where religion is mentioned. In case you need a refresher … “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
Republicans need to drop the religious right rhetoric if they want to advance in our world today. Their rhetoric is divisive and anti-intellectual. We cannot advance as a society if people believe the world is 6000 years old because a book that has been transcribed over hundreds of years says so … as opposed to listening to logic and reasoning of science. If science/logic is so wrong … then I suggest you stop going to the doctor, stop taking medicine and pray for God to heal you. Let’s see which method works better.
November 6th, 2008 17:24
YankeesFan….I didn’t say they were racist, and I would rather not believe (and I didn’t used to) that the majority of America is, but if I had a nickel for every person I have heard say from the start of the Obama campaign “I’m not racist, but…” I’d be a rich man. You know how many people I’ve heard say in the last couple of months since the market meltdown “let’s give the black guy a try, what have we go to lose?” Again- the color came first, not any of his other qualities. I don’t think Americans are racist in the sense of people wearing hoods and burning crosses, but we all have our biases and assumptions.
November 6th, 2008 17:25
There is no defense to Palin. She is uneducated and a disgrace to all reasonable people–Republican or not. All of you making excuses and trying to spin ths are pathetic and sound rediculous.
November 6th, 2008 17:30
Fair enough Schuamburg Guy, I haven’t heard that, so we disagree a bit.
Charlie C., I said I wasn’t going to do this earlier, but if we are going to call people uneducated and disgraceful, please spell check your entry. Thanks.
November 6th, 2008 17:38
Sorry Yankees Fan. Forgive the typo.
November 6th, 2008 17:40
This basically says it all in regards to Palin
COURIC: What other Supreme Court decisions do you disagree with?
PALIN: Well, let’s see. There’s –of course –in the great history of America rulings there have been rulings, that’s never going to be absolute consensus by every American. And there are–those issues, again, like Roe v Wade where I believe are best held on a state level and addressed there. So you know–going through the history of America, there would be others but–
COURIC: Can you think of any?
PALIN: Well, I could think of–of any again, that could be best dealt with on a more local level. Maybe I would take issue with. But you know, as mayor, and then as governor and even as a Vice President, if I’m so privileged to serve, wouldn’t be in a position of changing those things but in supporting the law of the land as it reads today.
All style, (over $150,00 worth) and absolutely no substance.
November 6th, 2008 17:41
From a Democrat: Ha ha ha ha ha ha! He he he he he! Ha ha Ha ha ha ha! Hic!!! He he he!!!!
November 6th, 2008 17:44
So what if Sarah Palin didn’t know Africa was a continent. Does anyone remember that BO stated that he had visited 57 states.Talk about stupid. Oh yes, I forgot, there ARE 57 Islamic states.
November 6th, 2008 17:45
Hey Janis!! You lost!!!!!!!!
November 6th, 2008 17:47
It’s too late!! Nasty slurs against Muslims don’t matter any more. You LOST!!!
November 6th, 2008 17:48
If your academically honest you have to admit that Palin is a disgrace and an embarrassment. If any of you can’t see that she would be a disaster waiting to happen as a vp or the President than there is nothing else to say.
November 6th, 2008 17:49
By the way there are also 57 varieties of Heinz
November 6th, 2008 17:51
??So what? So what? ??
You don’t think it’s important that she knows whether Africa is a continent or a country? What do you think is important for a potential VP to know?
November 6th, 2008 17:51
Hmm
The best thing that could possibly happen in 2012 is that the REpublicans pick Sarah Palin to run. Some comments from CNN below
King: Is Gov. Palin the new star of the Republican Party?
Maher: If they’re not very bright, she is. I mean, that’s going to be the gut check for the Republicans … what direction are they going to go in now?
Now, I think politicians are usually led by the idea that they want to win elections. And Sarah Palin was a bit of an Alaskan albatross around John McCain’s neck
King: So then you must want Gov. Palin to stay around, comedically.
Maher: I do and she will. I think what people did not understand about Gov. Palin was that she campaigned for that job. She wanted it. She lobbied for it. She’s a very ambitious person. And, of course, she’s a super religious person. So she believes that God chose her for this job. I guess — I guess God had a bad night yesterday
Palin has provided comedic fodder for Late night TV and SNL for months to come.
Anybody that dumb shouldn’t really be allowed out in public without a chaperone
November 6th, 2008 17:51
Palin is not any more a “disgrace” than the V.P. elect. Why do gaffes matter so much to people? But if they do, be consistent, because Mr. Biden is the King.
November 6th, 2008 17:52
I didn’t say they were racist, and I would rather not believe (and I didn’t used to) that the majority of America is, but if I had a nickel for every person I have heard say from the start of the Obama campaign “I’m not racist, but…” I’d be a rich man.
I did hear an interesting comment prior to the election that stated that the reason that racism wasn’t holding Obama back was that racism is a luxury, and some people who might not have voted for a black man in good times decided it was smart to vote for their own interests rather than their bigotry.
Of course, our lack of good times is a direct result of George W. Bush and the GOP, with plenty of support from John McCain, so he certainly deserved to be beaten with the outcome of his decisions.
November 6th, 2008 17:53
Neocons,
Please, please, please, keep her around. In times like these we need the comic relief.
November 6th, 2008 17:54
Who cares about gaffes? The problem is not even the fact that Palin is ignorant. So was Reagan but now he is a Republican hero. The problem is that she fights from the gutter, inferring Obama is a terrorist. For once, for once, for once, good finally won out. The small-minded nut heads are finally being kicked out of Washington and we have AT LEAST eight years of sanity.
November 6th, 2008 17:57
There is a world of difference between a gaffe, and a complete lack of knowledge. Saying FDR was on tv in 1929 is a gaffe. Not knowing who comprises NAFTA is a crime when you hold an executive level position.
November 6th, 2008 17:58
Dudes, Dudettes: She thought AFRICA IS A COUNTRY – maybe she still does. My parakeet is better prepared for the presidency. Sorry, gang – she gets a BIG FAIL. C’mon.
November 6th, 2008 17:58
So was Reagan but now he is a Republican hero.
Am I the only one who finds it odd that the man who skyrocketed our national debt with overly aggressive tax cuts and overspending is a Republican hero? Or that they love a man who sold arms to a terrorist state (Iran) and gave the proceeds to terrorists who killed hundreds of innocent people (Contras)?
November 6th, 2008 18:02
OK, I agree. She was extremely ignorant. But think about this. Imagine there is a board game and you are fictionally president of the United States. The KGB pays you to try to screw up the country; extra points for screwing up the planet. You face a difficult Congress and you have to convince your own administration. No-one, and I mean, no-one could do what George W. Bush has managed to do.
November 6th, 2008 18:03
LFC – agree completely. And a few people seem to have fogotten that he voted AGAINST the Voting Rights Act.
November 6th, 2008 18:03
“Palin and Jindal are the future of the GOP.”
Are you serious!!!
Jindal may appease a few of the geriatric bible thummpers in the GOP, but Sarah Palin is VERY intellectually and socially challenged.
The Republicans need to move more towards the centre and away from the lunatic fringe evangelists. If they stay in the lap of the Bible talk shows thaey will continue to lose votes.
They will have to move out of the 19th century and people like “Little Annie Oakley” will keep them squarely in the pay of the likes of Pate Buchanan and the rest of the delusional sunday school crowd
November 6th, 2008 18:03
Your dead wrong David. We need big brains in the control booth! Say what you want about Nixon but the guy was very very smart and well educated who did some very good things while president. Same with Barry Goldwater–one of the modern pioneer of the Republican Party. Way smart. That the the the foundation of the RP.
November 6th, 2008 18:04
You have that right. You should have heard Trump go off on W last night.
November 6th, 2008 18:05
Sorry for the typo’s
November 6th, 2008 18:06
There is no future for the GOP unless they dump the neocons.
November 6th, 2008 18:06
Charlie. I agree with you. Brains are important. I think George W. Bush proved it. It’s also true you can muddle through with conviction and without brains. But a lot of other people end up paying for it.
November 6th, 2008 18:10
SBNJ I missed that. What show was Trump on?
November 6th, 2008 18:13
I was flicking through all the major ones,,cnn, msnbc, even faux news which I think is where i landed for a trump interview.
November 6th, 2008 18:15
http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20081015/en_afp/usvotetrump
November 6th, 2008 18:16
He has been ripping W for years, so it was mostly a rehash of previous criticisms.
November 6th, 2008 18:17
Thanks David.
November 6th, 2008 18:21
Nice talking to you guys. I am in Europe so bed time for me. G’night!!
November 6th, 2008 18:21
Just checked her statement on Vice Presidency. As I suspected — she never said she does not know what the VP does. In fact she explained the relevant passages from Article II with clarity and precision.
Damn, the woman is the only candidate among the four with a clue about economics. And some loons out there call Obama intelligent? Remember, Obama lost an off-the-cuff debate against a plumber with no economics education at all! (Not that plumbers are dumb — they are certainly smarter than most community organizers.) Palin repeatedly showed that she understands complicated geopolitics — Obama seemed unaware that Russia sits on the UN Security Council! God, what does it take to get some people to subject an utterance to elementary logical analysis?!?!
November 6th, 2008 18:22
Charlie. I agree with you. Brains are important. I think George W. Bush proved it.
Both brains AND common sense. Cheney, Rumsfeld, Perle, Wolfie, and Addington are all very smart, but are such idealogues that they are incapable of seeing the facts that literally blow up in front of their faces. (Gonzales and Feith are both idiots.) Idealogues are incapable of figuring out how to change up when their assumptions don’t work.
November 6th, 2008 18:24
I live in Alaska and have so for 23 years (I am 41 yrs old). Currently I live in Anchorage, but for a few years I lived in Wasilla, Mrs. Palins hometown. My mother still owns a house there. I am a Republican. I voted for Bob Barr. My family has had personal dealings with the Palin family more than once and several years ago. I am not going to trash her here. I will say that the Republicans have many hardworking, engaging, intelligent and far better qualified people that could run for high office. I feel that running Sarah Palin in 2012 would prove a tremendous mistake and I understand that many of you will disagree. Just wanted to give you the view point from one white guy in Alaska. God Bless the United States!
November 6th, 2008 18:26
You pathetic Alex. Your a lost cause.
November 6th, 2008 18:27
Alex, look at my comments from 15:21 (#97) and 15:38 (#98). She absolutely misstated what the V-P does. The V-P doesn’t make “good policy changes” in the Senate. They can’t participate in debates, can’t introduce bills, can’t introduce amendments, can’t dictate anything on the Senate schedule, and has no vote except in the case of a tie.
And she stated clearly that she didn’t know what the V-P does in an interview with Larry Kudlow in July.
November 6th, 2008 18:27
And God Bless the Alaskin Independence Party right Richard?
November 6th, 2008 18:28
A clue about economics? She’s the governor of the most socialist / welfare state in the union, and she tries to falsely paint her opponent as a socialist. She hasn’t got a clue about anything.
November 6th, 2008 18:34
When the RNC unveiled Sarah Palin I went looking for information about who she is and what she stands for. People like Richard, who actually know SP and the Alaska political scene, have had a lot to say in two months and I, for one, thank them. She is simply not VP material.
November 6th, 2008 18:40
Maybe the AIP will renew its call for secession and Caribou Barbie can be their first president doggone it, and also maverick you betcha too joe six-pack, joe plumber, wink wink
November 6th, 2008 18:41
Dear Charlie. It is Alaskan not Alaskin. No, the AIP are not friends of mine. I voted GWB both times. I am not trying to argue with anyone. I understand that Sarah has a lot of support and I do not begrudge anyone that. I just dont agree and I have had a closer look at SP than most.
November 6th, 2008 18:45
Just joking Righard.
November 6th, 2008 18:46
Let’s face it she is more interested in being a celebrity than a public servant. I wish she would stay in politics and be the albatross of the neocons, but we all know she will self promote her way into some conservative media gig.
November 6th, 2008 18:50
Well even after Obama was elected the democrats are still trashing palin …..ya’ll are still scared of her if you weren’t you would stop talking about her and cutting her up just like Obamas campain which had the mainstream media on his side lol scared of a lady from that out of the way state of alaska your fear is clear and constantly trying to descredit her shows a total lack of class even you money Bought hero said ” let the healing begin”
Democrats are always about running their mouths but mortal cowards in their actions and face it most likely if Ron paul would have had over 700 million to campain with he would have one and then the only man that could fix the economic woes of American would have been elected now you democrats attack Dr Ron Paul possibly the only honest politician in the world that predicted 10 years ago our country would be in the finacial shape it is in
November 6th, 2008 18:55
Actually this blog is about the conservative Andrew Sullivan’s opinion. And there isn’t a democrat around that doesn’t hope and pray that Sarah remains a big part of the GOP.
November 6th, 2008 18:56
Dear Charlie. Just got too serious there, sorry. Now that the election is over it is time to rally as Americans. I truly want to see good things for this country. It was a refreshing change to see people around the world wave American flags, instead of burning them. No matter who I voted for, Barack Obama is going to be my President, I wish him godspeed and the best. I hope my fellow Republicans will also put the election and disappointment behind them. We are all Americans, and we all need to pitch in wholeheartedly.

I would have payed dearly to have seen Dr Ron Paul tear Obama apart in a debate the man has correct answers and plans for the recovery of America and in a debate he may have sent Obama home crying and while campaining Ron Paul used no speach writer had no secret service escort a true Americans with only himself an honest long time respected doctor humantarian and so dang love in his own area he ran for realection unchalenged for congress and by the wayu Obama stole the grass roots saying from Ron Paul which has used the saying for years
November 6th, 2008 19:02
news flash as of Nov.6 th Obama’s approval rating is 52% he better get it up fast thats only 20 points above Bush LMAO
November 6th, 2008 19:06
Hey folks… the truth will be exposed. If she was an utter idiot; we’ll find out.
November 6th, 2008 19:12
Umm….hate to break it to you David, but that’s about 30 points above Bush.
November 6th, 2008 19:21
David M. – You are the typical Repukeland! I won’t even waste my time tryin to sway you, dude you have issues.
November 6th, 2008 19:23
If you truly belive Palin was the best option for a running mate, I question your judgement as well as McCain’s.
November 6th, 2008 19:24
I would just like to say thank Sarah Palin for your hard work and your strength!
She is the only reason I voted and she made me very proud to be a republican women. She is someone who women all over can look up to ( and they have). Sarah was the only person on this campaign that stood up for what she believed in. She was the only person in this campaign that could speak to the heart of America and truely mean it. So again thank you Sarah! You have made me believe in the dream of America again. You have my vote for 2012.
November 6th, 2008 19:24
I don’t understand Palin-apologists. When long-standing, respected conservatives that you used to rally behind dared to criticize her, you tried to tear them down and attack them personally. She was not ready. Could she be? Maybe. John McCain definitely didn’t do her any favors and probably killed her political future. Face it, she’s now the Al Gore of the Republican Party. The real question is, who’s the next leader?
November 6th, 2008 19:26
Why would she make you proud? She was an embarassment! There is certain criteria for any “professional” position. She hasn’t even finished college, the only one out of the 4 on both tickets with no degree! She wasn’t(still isn’t) qualified Krystal!
November 6th, 2008 19:31
10 face it your life is a waste of time again democrats always resort to calling names lol
November 6th, 2008 19:32
I agree with you Dan. I have nothing personal against Palin but I expect a lot more from someone that will be representing me(my country). She was in over her head. Someone, I think it was David M, brought up her smarts from high school. LOL..LOL.. Highschool? Are you serious? That was 30 years ago. What has she done her adult life? She’s a cutie but that’s pretty much it.
November 6th, 2008 19:33
so once again democrats are silent when Ron Paul is brought up maybe sad because you alowed the real thing to get away
November 6th, 2008 19:34
David M, I only addressed what you’ve been doing for the past 2 hours. Actually my life is pretty good thank God. I don’t go with the Democrat/Republican thing because neither of them pay my bills. I voted for the best candidate to get this country back on track. I am retired AF, have voted Republican before, but this wasn’t even a close call for me. Palin wasn’t ready, plan & simple.
November 6th, 2008 19:36
Though the reports may have come from anonymous backstabbers, they are entirely plausible in light of publicly sourced and well documented previous disclosures.
1. She tried to fire the librarian in Wasilla because she “didn’t feel that she had her complete loyalty”. Excuse me??? What kind of mayor needs complete loyalty from the LIBRARIAN? (Look that up under “Diva”.)
2. In the original Troopergate Report and in several campaign interviews, when asked to comment on unflattering information, her response was to ask for the name of the source of the information. (Evil Diva)
3. Couldn’t/wouldn’t name a single source of current reading to keep up on things in the Couric interview. That shouldn’t have been a “gotcha” question.Hell, my cats could answer that one for me.
4. When asked about the Africa as country report today, she dismissed it in such as way that it sounded like it was true. I don’t remember exactly what she said, but it was some Sarahspeak about the excitement of the campaign and again all the “little things and problems” that are a part of that. Something to that effect…
November 6th, 2008 19:36
Was Ron Paul on the ticket??? Who cares about someone that wasn’t on the ticket. That goes for someone that brings up Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, McCain, Palin, Romney, Elvis, Bigfoot or anyone else that WASN’T on the ticket. Out of the people that where on the ballots, I voted for the best candidate.
November 6th, 2008 19:38
10 your a total idiot Palin has a bs from the university of Idaho in comunications and journalism
November 6th, 2008 19:41
while you 10 just are full of BS lol
November 6th, 2008 19:42
David M(for moron). There are 5 degrees between Biden & Obama. How many are there between McCain & Palin? I know the answer, do you? I wish you well in wanting Palin to represent your party, don’t expect many victories. Like I said, whomever can run this country the best I’m all for that person. Not saying Palin will never be there but she’s a long ways off. Idiot? LOL Not even close. But all the Republicans that I work with think the same way you do about anyone that doesn’t agree with what they agree with. LOL…
November 6th, 2008 19:42
well well 10 you going to say your sorry for just posting a total lie
November 6th, 2008 19:45
THE BOTTOM LINE IS THIS:
America spoke & the best candidate, my opinion, won. So now we all as Americans need to get behind this new guy & do our part to recover from the mess GW put us in. I would like to stay here & go back & forth with you David M, but my pathetic/idiot 6 figure job says it’s time for me to call it quits for the day. lol…lol..
God bless you all,
November 6th, 2008 19:45
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. McCain has his degree.
November 6th, 2008 19:47
& yes Palin has a bs in communications/journalism from the university of idaho
November 6th, 2008 20:05
So then you admit that you were spewing falsehoods, good. Look, she may not be your candidate for President, but goodness gracious, she isn’t a dolt. Smarter than Obama, nope. Give her some time and experience and she will comport herself much better in the future. And if she doesn’t, then her career in politics will be short-lived.
November 6th, 2008 20:11
Sandra, please do some research on the founding fathers, you will find they did everything they could to keep “God” out of our government. They were quite aware of the danger of people governing to religion. They wanted everyone to be free, and free to choose whatever religion they wanted and is the only reason it was included in our constitution. That means, not just Christian, but Judaism, Muslim, Buddhists, whatever. They were astute and knew that more wars and crimes against people were committed under religious pretense. It doesnt matter what they say about Palin and if it is right or wrong or if they are using her as a scapegoat. She was actively propogating hate and fear through lies and the American people decided to choose hope and change. If you are afraid this country is going to hell and that you value the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, you should read them and after that, go visit the aclu’s website and see how Bush and company have been writing laws that violate the Constituion and your civil rights. If those laws are not overturned, than ANY president, current or future right now has the power to turn the USA into a police state. If you owned a company, you would hire the most intelligent person to run it, that cleary wasn’t Palin. We don’t want idiots running the Whitehouse, we want the sharpest people we can find. Clearly, in this race, that was Obama. This country will have hard times, but it will get through. We are strong. But please focus your attention on maintaining your civil liberties. Our founding fathers would have rolled in their graves if Palin came anywhere near the Whitehouse, they were free thought intellectuals, many atheists. They wouldnt have cared that she was a woman, they would have not liked her because she has no real substance with a serious lack of intelligence, a lack of tolerance, and a lack of general knowledge. But the worse thing is that she doesn’t even have the curiousity to learn. You should be proud that we have a president elect that truly does see us all as equals, now that is something I have never seen in my lifetime. And it’s a wonderful feeling!
November 6th, 2008 20:20
To Susan, to respond to your statement about an inexperinced African American who happen to have finish the top of his class and not next to last in his class as Sen. McCain was reported had finish at the bottom of his class.
As well as the fine way he set up his campaign this un experinced African American you talk about that beat McCain with 328 electoral votes and I understand this same black man you are talking about is still pulling in some of those states that where to close to call. So again how inexperince was he you say?
November 6th, 2008 20:46
Who’s to say any of this garbage is true? Why trust obviously disloyal operatives trying to cover their own failures?
These folks ought not be trusted by any other candidate ever again. If McCain had been elected, imagine what damage they could have done from inside an Administration.
Of course, they are anonymous, they know that no one trusts a turncoat, no matter where they eventually wind up.
November 6th, 2008 20:55
10 you think your big cause you have a 6 figure job well I do too and I own it started it 3 years ago Im my own boss and it flourised during bushes term so shove in up your collective ass
and Yankee she maynot be smarter than Obama but I think she is alot more real what average american is Obama like I bet he doesn’t have to pick bargain items at the grocery stores and I bet his children dont go to public schools or he scrimps to shop at walmart for there christmas so how can he know what the average american needs and news flash Obama picked his cheif of staff another from Chicago damn sounds like the mob all over again
November 6th, 2008 20:58
Mary are you sure Obama finished at the top of his class remember he hasn’t shown his college records or as a matter of fact his birth certificate which in fact Obama was found in contempt in court for that on Oct 28th
November 6th, 2008 21:01
Well apparently you don’t either, with your big, bad 6 figure job. Congratulations.
I’m not an Obama fan, but with two law degrees in the family, the Obamas chose public service. I recognize that they have received many perks from their public service, but that wasn’t the initial draw. To me, that makes them a very appealing first couple.
November 6th, 2008 21:01
Mary(Louisiana what planet do people like you come from. Let’s see now going to college is what makes you real smart and experienced. Oh really. How come so many of the best presidents never went to college. And it is a lot more of a struggle both physically and mentally to graduate from the naval academy than Harvard, where you have to struggle through that grueling coffee latte drill. Obama has no executive experience idiot. It doesn’t matter whether he went to college or not. An Ivy league college does not instantly make you presidential material. And let’s really get into it. And pulling in those states had as much to due with the media bias as anything. Can you name one thing he has done since he has been in any office idiot. Of course not because intelligence is not your strong suit. Lady it scares the hell out of me that people like you are even allowed to vote, when you have no clue what is going on in the world or country. And isn’t it always nice how the media is constantly quoting unnamed sources all the time when it comes to attacking John McCain and Sarah Palin. Maybe because they wanted one of their own in office so bad. And I don’t want to here your pathetic screaming when you have no job or no place to live and not even a basement to hide from the terrorists in when this worthless creep gets started.
November 6th, 2008 21:05
Obama didn’t win he bought this election and anyone that doesn’t know it it just a plain fool hell even 10 could be president with 700 million dollars to work with …any parents should
the know that when a candy company shows a new candy on ty a 100 times a day your kid will bother you till you give up hell If general motors spent as much money as Obama did on advertising their stock would be 98.00 a share again from brainwashing remember this happened once before Hitler could totally take over huge crowgds with his speaches telling people what they wanted to hear and history has a funny way of repeting itself and that crowd nearly wiped out the jewish all together Obama may or maynot be a dangeous man to many unanswered question
November 6th, 2008 21:33
David M.,
You are a liar, an Exaggerator, a gross misconceptionist and a disservice to your country.
Before Obama, the most expensive campaign was George Bush, before Bush it was Clinton, before Clinton it was George Bush, before him it was Reagan.
The winner of an election rarely had trouble raising money because more people believed in him to start with than believed in the other candidate.
You lied above about the Alaskan budget because you did not know. At first you said 700 billion dollars spent on the Obama campaign, because I can only imagine you conflated it with the bail out. Your attention to detail has probably always been a problem. You focus on the wrong details and miss the point and talk before you think about a problem, instead using only your gut and feelings to speak about something. Grow up or stop playing on your mom’s internet account.
Obama won the hearts and minds of the majority of the educated. Obama won the hearts and minds of the majority of the uneducated. Obama took a big hunk of conservatives and independents. This nation tends towards conservative candidates. Liberals are outnumbered, and for a candidate this liberal to get elected, he has to have a lot of centrist ideas and themes. He did and not least among them is an understanding that fighting two wars because we can is not a reason to fight the war we should be fighting in Afghanistan, poorly.
Every group but white males, he took a giant share of. Hitler was different, because when he came to power, he took a lion’s share of the White Males, White females and almost none of the minority votes. We’re a great nation for the same reason Nazi Germany was a bad nation, we have a lot of different people working for a lot of the same reasons.
Slow down, take a breath, and calm down, you can always move to some other country if you hate this one so much.
November 6th, 2008 21:53
So Dave B. you don’t mind an idiot in the White House. Did you see her interviews? How many intelligent people have to say that the reason they couldn’t endorse McCain was because of his bad choice in Sarah Palin for you to understand SHE WAS A BAD CHOICE?
November 6th, 2008 21:58
David, I introduce you to Godwin’s Law: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwins_law
“Godwin’s Law is often cited in online discussions as a deterrent against the use of arguments in the reductio ad Hitlerum form.
The rule does not make any statement whether any particular reference or comparison to Hitler or the Nazis might be appropriate, but only asserts that one arising is increasingly probable. It is precisely because such a comparison or reference may sometimes be appropriate, Godwin has argued[4] that overuse of Nazi and Hitler comparisons should be avoided, because it robs the valid comparisons of their impact. Although in one of its early forms Godwin’s Law referred specifically to Usenet newsgroup discussions,[5] the law is now applied to any threaded online discussion: electronic mailing lists, message boards, chat rooms, and more recently blog comment threads and wiki talk pages.”
November 6th, 2008 22:20
Everyone here seems to be trying to scoreboard everyone else on how smart their respective candidates are. If intelligence were so important to the Presidency, then we should just appoint Steven Hawking and be done with it. I’ve never heard one person suggesting that.
The fact is that there are many different types of intelligence. I attribute all of this vitriol spewing forth about “my college is better than yours” to a large amount of emotional immaturity.
I don’t care if those elected to do business in the name of the people are smarter than me, I just want them to stay out of my hair. I have some very well educated friends who can run circles around me in most scholastic endeavors but are just wrecks when it comes to working out some of the simplest of life’s daily tasks. I certainly would not want to be governed or led by those people.
As a conservative, I actually feel differently about this election than I think I would have had Gore or Kerry been elected. I look at this as a great opportunity for the US. I actually finding myself pulling for Obama to succeed. I think this is because I do not think he is a p–ck the way that those other fellows seemed to be. He appeals to me on a personal level. I still think his politics stink, but I see a great deal of promise.
November 7th, 2008 02:01
I am a Reagan Country Orange County Republican whose been around long enough to have voted for a President some hate but I admired; Richard Nixon. I swore I would never vote for a Democrat as long as I cab put my boots on, but I voted for Obama because Palin was on the ticket and not Mitt Romney.
All one has to do is realize that being involved in two wars, that is costing us 11 billion bucks a month, and for those not old enough to have done duck and cover drills in elementary and middle school because the Soviet’s have an arsenal that can vaporize any American city within 22 minutes of launch time and have just recently redeployed these same nuke ICBM’s on our cities once again, credit is frozen, employment numbers are beginning to skyrocket and by the time Wall Street finally bottoms out those numbers will get much higher, a federal deficit that has exploded beyond any kind of numbers the Democrats have ever run up, a true socialist platform idea right out of Karl Marx’s play book, which is part of Marx’s 5th plank, “seizure of credit and take over of financial institutions” that came right from President Bush, a Republican in name only, where 800 billion bucks of our money has gone to support this real socialist by definition scheme bailout private banks with public money, the fact any American citizen can be ripped right out of bed at 3 am and swept off to some foreign prison and tortured without due process and habeas corpus, you begin to realize your constitution has been tossed down the waste pipe in the phony baloney propaganda fear scheme of global terror, when you have as a vocation the study of Germany’s Third Reich during WW II where my own Aunt was hauled off to a concentration camp who survived to be rescued by the 3rd French Army, and has warned our whole family recently at age 94 that these were the kinds of things she witnessed happening when the holocaust began in Germany, if you think for one minute I am going to feel comfortable with a Vice-President who granted is a sexy Republican talk the talk bomb thrower of a politician, but hasn’t even been a Governor for a full term and before that a Mayor of a very small rural community, and given Mc Cain’s age and his prior history of cancer, and the next President having to face down the most challenging foreign and domestic policy challenges that no modern American Presidency has had to face, I am not about to roll the dice with an unknown quantity, not at this level of political leadership who cannot even hold her own against a simple question of being asked to name one U.S. Supreme Court Case that she takes issue with and articulate her position and provide a coherent argument to Katy Couric, especially after an important Supra case was ruled dealing with an Alaskan issue that publicly when that happened Palin was very vocal about in her opposition to the opinion, should have been triggered, but got lost in the moment.
Get a grip, when the rubber hits the pavement you better hope, you have the best in the business, and that might not even cut it in performing this job and the only person close was Mitt Romney.

A lot of people think only ivy league, high IQ people (worthless) are capable of running our government? Yup! Well, they must have taken a STUPID pill ’cause they just ran the government into the ground!
Barfy Frank & Chris Dudd oughta serve time with hard labor. And now we have to put up with B.O. and his shady character. Lots of people got fooled by his smooth, deceptive & hypnotic sermons and unfortunately will pay the price….it’s coming. The only thing he does well is flap his jaws…he’s an empty suit.
Give me someone like Sarah Palin who gets the job done for the good of the people…now that’s SMART.
November 7th, 2008 03:26
Godwin’s law is really a metaphor for “cognitive dissonance” if the contextual value is correct. The bigger the lie the more people will swallow it, plays right into same, which originates with the bigger the lie the more people will believe it.
Say for example, in much the same way as if it is a true fact that local police are kidnapping illegal immigrants in your community at gunpoint and taking them all out to a pit where they are shot and buried. No one will believe it. Why? ,What I call Maslows reverse first premise. Personal Safety, being the single most element of the fight or flight response, the very idea that those responsible for one’s security in the abstract, are themselves the same persons that represent a person’s greatest threat cannot be believed. Its a trust issue that people internalize about wisdom f their own judgment and who we are supposed to trust as a rule and without question, much like our parents in the reptilian bran phenomenon in judgments they being us make about taking personal responsibility for our own well-being. Being duped at that most personal level creates the strongest cognitive dissonance response in humans. Tyranny has always prevailed throughout history over the masses, using our own basic needs against us to secure power. That’s why the global war on terror works.
Please Read for example “The Great War for Civilization” by Robert Fisk a NY Times Intl. Best Seller where Fisk interviewed Bin laden before 9/11 and told Fisk that “ he prayed God would turn America into a mere shadow of itself” Look around and make an honest assessment of our once beloved Republic. Remember what Ben Franklin said, those that sacrifice the blessings of liberty for security will have neither. Bin Laden has nearly achieved in principle what he prayed to God would happen to us. Abu Grab, Gitmo, Rendition, suspension of habeus corpus and due process, torture, wire tapping and the hacking into all of our communications without getting a warrant, Americans snitching on Americans and looking at your fellw American out of distrust.
This is a changed country alright and I fear the freight train to tyranny more than I do Bin Laden and his band of thugs.
My God we demolished an army of a million men on two continents and destroyed the most vicious genocidal maniacs in the history of mankind the SS and Third Reich in WW II and we did not subvert our Republican principles with a much far greater threat to our national security. A relatively small band of religious zealots who really demand for us to be out of their country (Saudi Arabia) and for Arabs t be treated with equity when it come to Arab and Jewish affairs in the Middle East, and look what we have done. We are turning into a mere shadow of ourselves and I have over a half a century f living in this country to certainly know the truth and the difference.

While I applaud and will fight to the death for every American to have the right to freely express themselves no matter how much I disagree with an opinion, I appreciate the calm, rational and critical thinking approach to discourse that 10, Jason Linda, and Tomsrrell bring to this discussion, but all opinions have value to those who express it. . Not to overuse a recent coined phrase from Obama himself, but it is true that we can all disagree w/o being disagreeable.
But as someone who spent most of his life as a grunt(firefighter) after I retired at 47 I recently finished one undergraduate and two post graduate degree programs and found that education is good for making money, but wisdom comes from your relationship with a higher power(God) that develops your good character to engage your energies in efforts that improve the quality of life for all Americans and the human family across our global village, and finally to have lasting and loving relationships with family friends and our fellow human beings.
Education in higher learning has broadened my horizons, allowed for me to enjoy lasting quality friendships with fellow students and faculty, facilitated greater appreciation for the diversity of the human family, given me a greater ability to communicate to others in more meaningful and productive ways, and fully prepared for me to become the best I can be at my new and second profession which is a school teacher, to help inspire the young minds of America’s future to be the best they can be through their own personal journey of discovery learning and the development of their talents and desires that will foster their own personal success at every level of their life, and help to reduce the disgusting level of high school dropouts across America which stands at roughly 50%.

Let’s assume that every charge leveled against Palin by “anonymous sources” are true. So what?
I am much less concerned about her reputed lack of knowledge then I am about her character. A lack of knowledge can be fixed by opening a book, or hiring a subject expert and asking them for advice, but character is something built up over an entire lifetime.
One need only look to Clinton to see the contrast. While reputedly one of our most intelligent Presidents, he was, a rogue and scoundrel, at best, or a rapist and murder at worst.
I’d much rather have a President with good character and smart advisers, then an immoral genius.
November 7th, 2008 10:24
Kicker:
As for Palin’s “character”, then:
She lied to the public in her very first national statement, “I told Congress ‘Thanks but No Thanks!’ to the Bridge to Nowhere!” This is a lie. Yet even after it was proven to be a lie, she continued to use this line in her standard stump-speech into the end of September.
When the Alaska State Legislative investigatory committee found that she had violated Alaska law, and named the law (the Alaska Ethics Act for Govt Employees), her response was that the investigation had exonerated her completely. It would have been one thing if she had said that the investigation committee was politically slanted (though the committee contained 4 Democrats and 12 Republicans); but she didn’t say that–she said that the committee had exonorated her completely. This was an outright lie that she repeated.
Conclusion: (1) either she was a ruthless and amoral serial liar with no morals about lying, but hoping that if she continued to lie that people would accept it as the truth (esp. the Low Information Voters) and that the media would never catch up to her, or else (2) she really lives in a fantasy world where what she WANTS to be true IS immediately true, no matter what the evidence says.
Take your choice. But in either case, in terms of character she isn’t fit for public office, let alone the Vice Presidency of the Univted States.

Correction to my comment. Should read…’they just ran the economy into the ground!’
November 7th, 2008 11:10
So this is how far the GOP has fallen. Palin did not distinguish herself at all. She was in the middle of a scandal in Troopergate, lied about the bridge to nowhere and gave over 400 million taxpayer dollars to a gas company for a pipeline that hasnt even been designed yet much less being built. Your party lost because you dont have an agenda besides hate. Palin was out of her league, i could only imagine the talk from your side if she was a Dem..So go ahead and tout her for 2012, your guaranteed to lose again….
November 7th, 2008 13:02
David M. said… Mary are you sure Obama finished at the top of his class remember he hasn’t shown his college records or as a matter of fact his birth certificate which in fact Obama was found in contempt in court for that on Oct 28th
And just like clockwork, out comes the tin foil hat…
FYI, Obama’s birth certificate was certified as genuine by Hawaii. (You know. Hawaii. It’s a state in the United States.)
A court case was filed in the Philadelphia area by one Philip Berg. The judge threw out the case, and his 34 page brief included such phrases as “ridiculous” and “patently false.” Of the main assertions questioning Obama’s citizenship, the judge called them “frivolous and not worthy of discussion.”
And if you want to see some of Obama’s accomplishments in school, why don’t you dig up back issues of the Harvard Law Review.
November 7th, 2008 13:08
Kicker said… I am much less concerned about her reputed lack of knowledge then I am about her character.
I personally think you need both, but as to character well, she’s been involved in multiple scandals in her very short career. As to the Presidential campaign, it seemed like she told a new lie every other day.
When it comes to character, Obama and Biden completely and utterly overwhelm both McCain and Palin.
November 7th, 2008 14:10
Mary you apparently don’t understand the legal system he was ordered by a judge in mainland America to produce his birth certificate to that particular court when he didn’t he was in contempt and intelligent people find it kind of funny the doctor in Hawaii made his statement 2 days after obama was in hawaii visiting his grandmother and this isn’t a Pa. court with the contempt charge. and its apparent Obama in just 2 days is only interested in being in the limelite talking to leaders all over the world instead of which he hasn’t meantioned at all going after the fatcat CEOs that basicly robbed this country blind of has talked a bunch about the middle class but show me when he has said what he is going to do about the working Poor and at his acceptence speach didn’t you brainwashed people notice that obama said i maynot be able to fix america in one year or even one term which wasn’t what he preached in his campain not even sworn in and trying to cover his ass on false campain promisses mark my words and I expect hateful reponces cause ya’ll are democrats after all and that has been the democratic battle cry throughout this election racial slures nastiness and generally being assholes in 2 years the democratic congress will be voted out and 4 years Obama’s approval rate will be lower than Bushes cause you all were so brain washed not to realize all he promissed to do would take 30 years to make happen and the GOP has done a very smart move in the right direction where they are starting a website for citizens to have a valid imput into as how they think the repulican party should be rebuilt into a working entity that it should be for the people by the people
Obama has turned out to be just another corporate sellout watch and see if Im wrong then attack me ….and if Im dead wrong shouldn’t his approval rate at least going up a little its still at 52% and Im pissed at this election period cause both sides claimed so much respect for those in the military but their vote wasn’t counted it maynot have mattered but we they didn’t even care how they voted….LFC when has Obama shown character his association with ayers wright and the mobster even though he claims its in the past shows very little character Character takes a lifetime to build ayers a very strong relationship with Ayers was a mear 5 years ago and with Wright in the last year when he started his campain Ayers Wright and the mobster now in prison should have been mentioned by him at the start and I wonder about his college career wondering how so m,any college students passed over how he did so well in Harvard while doing hard drugs most college students will tell you it isn’t possible all questions that have been sidestepped by a smooth talking man and get it right he isn’t the First Black President he is the first Interacial President 25 years ago Blacks wouldn’t have accepted him either remember the problems interacial children had in school in the 80s the blacks or whites didn’t accept them
November 7th, 2008 14:16
and if Obama is so good for the USA why is the stock market tumbling and the price of oil starting to go up again Ya”ll democrats need to take your party hats off and see that obama being elected has done nothing to improve anything the stockmarket and oil run this country the President doesn’t
November 7th, 2008 14:18
and finally i hope you see quickly the only reason to spend over 700 million dollars on a job that pays 400 thousand dollars is strickly for POWER
November 7th, 2008 14:57
Ouch! Trying to read your meth-fueled stream of consciousness ravings is tough, but let’s see if I can help you out with some answers.
when has Obama shown character his association with ayers wright and the mobster even though he claims its in the past shows very little character
Fine, so you admit that by your standard John McCain, with his close association with the person who funded Ayers, has no character also. Not to mention Charles Keating (and years later one of his partners), Sinclair, G.Gordon Libby, sitting on the board that supported the Contra terrorists, kissing the ass of Falwell, Hagee, and Parsley, handing his campaign over to lobbyists, etc. I think your stance is ridiculous, but as long as you’re not applying a double standard, that’s fine. We can agree that John McCain is a scumbag.
And let’s not forget the distinctly America hating Sarah Palin. She’s been involved with the secessionist Alaska Independence Party. Her husband was a member for years. She spoke at one of their conventions. She recorded the greeting for this year’s convention. If she hates America so much that she wants her state to secede from the union, why would anybody want her running for a federal office?
Character takes a lifetime to build ayers a very strong relationship with Ayers was a mear 5 years ago and with Wright in the last year when he started his campain Ayers Wright and the mobster now in prison should have been mentioned by him at the start
Why, in your befuddled little mind, would you think that Obama would bring up William Ayers? He was just one member of a board that Obama and MULTIPLE REPUBLICANS served on. (DOH!)
As to Rev. Wright, Obama brought him up before the primaries. Not his fault that you weren’t paying attention. And before you go on a tirade of how racist Wright was, maybe you should do a little study about the man. Try scatching a bit deeper than Sean Hannity. You’ll find that he’s actually acted more the Christian than many of the more famous phonies the GOP falls all over. (Remember when Pat Robertson said that 9/11 was God’s punishment?)
I assume by “mobster” you mean Tony Rezko. That “connection” was investigated out the whazoo back in the primaries, and the paper doing so said there was no evidence that anything illegal or unethical had ever occurred between them. What was the big scandal? They bought real estate together at market price, and Rezko’s wife later sold her share for a profit. Wow! What a scandal!
and I wonder about his college career wondering how so m,any college students passed over how he did so well in Harvard while doing hard drugs most college students will tell you it isn’t possible
Judging from your inability to write an even semi-coherent sentence, I don’t imagine you (or “most college students you know) have a freaking clue about what it would take to get through Harvard. Hint: They don’t name you editor of the Harvard Law Review because they think you’re a nice guy.
and if Obama is so good for the USA why is the stock market tumbling and the price of oil starting to go up
They’re called “market forces”. Why did the stock market tumble? Multiple companies announced layoffs, unemployment rate was just announced and it was bad, last month’s unemployment numbers were revised for the worse … you know, stuff that IMPACTS THE ECONOMY! You really have no grasp of correlation or “cause and effect”, do you?
Tin … foil … hat. Might talk to the doc about some serious meds.
November 7th, 2008 15:23
LFC you left out an important part about Ayers again obama sat in Ayers living room for a fundraiser to start his senate career thats a lot more of a personal relationship than just sitting on boards is which has been a democratic sidestep from the begining I wish someone that I knew just casually would have a fund raiser for me
and LFC you bring up meth alot you trying to tell us something about yourself
and everyone blamed Bush for the market crash and oil going up your man was elected so lets be fair its Obama’s fault ya’ll blamed Bush so either you were wrong about bush being the cause or obama isn’t helping matters at all and like i said after 2 days if he is so great shouldn’t he have gained at least one point higher approval and after it was all said and done it turns out by the numbers that Palin was like more than mCain
November 7th, 2008 15:24
DavidM says:
“and if Obama is so good for the USA why is the stock market tumbling and the price of oil starting to go up again ”
Thats easy because George W. Bush is still in charge. And to your birth certificate theory, he has run for office 3 times and all 3 times the registrars office verified his nationality, So how do the registrars office confirmed his citizenship but for you wingnuts there is still some question to his citizenship?
November 7th, 2008 15:30
one more thing blowing up in your face Tony Rezco you said a paper doing the investgation….right there one thing the american citizen has learned from this election is the news media is about mostly false they also said palins youngest son was her daughters son which was proved faulty reporting so you one of the totally clueless that your going to trust the findings of a news paper
investigator thats only intrest is boosting circulation? Another american chump by your own admission LFC
November 7th, 2008 15:36

November 7th, 2008 17:09
American First he has run for office 3 times with all the corruption and lying in politics these days thats suposed to mean its true do you really want to say you trust the goverment ?
half of the people in America want proof if he is an american why wont he just release the certifcate easy enough no big deal to prove he is it wouldn’t take long I have had to show mine before and just think of the glory all you democrats would have if he did ….something is up to refuse such a little request and what if it turns out he isn’t a citizen I guess it would make the Democratic Party turn out to be the real fools.
Im 52 years old and have seen dishonest republicans and Democrats I don’t really trust either side
November 7th, 2008 17:30
Well i tend to believe them more than you. Im still waiting for Bush to release his military records. And i dont think half of America cares at this point. And he has released it there have been pictures of it all over the web, but for some reason it isnt proof enough for you conspiracy hacks…
November 7th, 2008 17:52
Uh, oh. Poor Dave M. has slipped out into the tall grass.
LFC you left out an important part about Ayers again obama sat in Ayers living room for a fundraiser to start his senate career thats a lot more of a personal relationship than just sitting on boards is which has been a democratic sidestep from the begining
Dude, do you have any idea how many fundraisers these people go to? McCain had one at the home of G. Gordon Liddy, the man who told his radio listeners how to kill ATF agents (shoot for the head because they were vests). He also went on his radio program many times and praised him. So, again using your “logic”, McCain has a close tie to a man who advocated the murder of government agents, meaning that MCCAIN IS A TRAITOR! (Not my opinion, just using your own logic.)
and everyone blamed Bush for the market crash and oil going up your man was elected so lets be fair its Obama’s fault ya’ll blamed Bush so either you were wrong about bush being the cause or obama isn’t helping matters at all
Civics lesson. Fill in the blank. “George W. Bush is the ________ and Barack Obama is the ________-Elect.” (Hint: It’s the same answer for both blanks.)
And the fact that nobody has been able to produce a single shred of evidence that Obama had any untoward relationship with Rezko is obviously killing you. Sorry there aren’t any facts to back up what you “know”.
Dave M. Logic ™, making smacked ass conclusions since 2008 (or maybe earlier?).
BTW, the Dow went up 248 points on the day that Obama gave his first press conference as President-Elect, so by your “logic”, the market went up because Obama spoke. GO OBAMA!
November 7th, 2008 18:02
Dear ROBERT SWEETMAN:
Bravo!! Although I do not agree with your politics–I use to be a republican but went democrat all the way about 15 years ago–you are applauded for your integrity and honesty. To all of you so-called “country first” republicans I ask you to please read Robert’s posts. In Re Palin it is very simple: much like we have witnessed with Bush, she is simply out of her depth and out of her league.
November 7th, 2008 18:03
ROBERT, P.S. I’m from the Orange Curtain too–just a little more south down in San Juan Capo. Regards

Ayers and his wife Dohrn are both despicable figures, as far as I’m concerned. But at the time that Obama was invited (by a third party) to Ayers’ house for a fundraiser (for state legislature, not U.S. Senator), Ayers had been ASSISTANT DEPUTY MAYOR OF CHICAGO (1990-1991), and Chicago CITIZEN OF THE YEAR (1997).
You can talk about the intellectual and perhaps financial corruption (the octopus-like influence of Ayers’ fabulously wealthy father Thomas Ayers) that led Ayers and Dohrn so quickly back into the Chicago establishment. But the fact is that by the late 1990s they WERE part of the Chicago establishment, not radical undergrounders.
The point made above about the board on which Obama and Ayers served together also containing several important Republicans is, again, perfectly true. That board, created by funds provided by Annenberg, a close friend of Ronald Reagan, also contained that radical figure, the President of the University of Illinois. Moreover, Obama has stronger ties to the Friedman and Strauss libertarian intellectuals at U of Chicago than to Ayers. Looking at one thread (Ayers) in the network he developed in Chicago between 1988 and 2008 is greatly distortive of reality.
November 7th, 2008 18:25
I gave $5 to Obama under the name “Dora the Explorer.” For the address, I put 2008 Farakahn Blvd in Rezko, Ill. He accepted my contribution and thousands of other fraudulent contributions because his campaign deliberately turned off their Address Verification System. I tried the same thing on McCain’s and couldn’t proceed because the address had to match my credit card info. Turning off their Address Verification System allowed Obama to take donations from across the world without reporting them to the FEC. There were thousands of untraceable donations. Face it, folks. We got a real crook in the White House now. You think Nixon was bad. He wasn’t from Chicago even.
Obama will probably be impeached before all is said and done. And then we can debate whether we’d rather have Biden or Palin as VP.
November 7th, 2008 18:27
lol..
November 7th, 2008 18:59
excuse me I made a grave mistake money to kick off Obama’s senate career

and really pay attention to what I said thousands of Americans are getting from under the credit boulder everyday by tearing up their credit cards and buying with cash and every one of them are happier
November 7th, 2008 20:06
David M, now according to you Obama is not a tool of Radical Billy Ayers but of Corrupt Businessman Tony Rezko. Well, if so, that makes Obama an ordinary Chicago pol, not a Manchurian Candidate of Weatherman. Make up your mind, sir.
November 7th, 2008 20:24
Ethan do you know who Rahm Emanuel is ? Obama’s picked chief of staff is ?
November 7th, 2008 20:28
just on the news Rahm Emanuel is the X director of the board of Freddy mac
now this should start opening you democrats eyes as to what you voted in office the DIRECTOR OF A COMPANY TAXPAYERS ARE BAILING OUT I knew the shit was going to hit the fan not just so soon we need to get that Obama crook out of office before he gets in
November 7th, 2008 20:41
Etahan weatherman or not i consider a criminal a criminal and i think its a blalant slap in the face that Obama choose the director of the board of a failed company all american tax payers are going to foot the bill for and a LONG CLOSE friend as chief of staff …he is showing (Obama) that is he has no regard for way americans feel
November 7th, 2008 20:47
this board is the truth about Sarah Palin but its turning out as the truth about Obama
now democrats make a quick excuse as to why we should accept Obama rubbing the american’s face in pooh
you still trust him now that Russia thinks we are whimps and his chief of staff should be put in prison Rahm Emanuel is one of the causes of our economy being in the crapperFreddie Mac was the biggest finacial failure so far I think no wonder he got so much campaign money from them right before they went broke to bribe Obama for a job I curious to see what Collin Powell gets for his endorcement
November 7th, 2008 21:02
David M:
1. Rahm E. was not THE director of Freddie Mac; he was on the Board of Directors of Freddie Mac; and he resigned in 2001. 2001, sir:. Seven years ago.
(There was a financial scandal at that time, too; and one similar in character to what happened now; but, again…it was not the same scandal as the one that brought down Freddie Mac, and Rahm E resigned seven years ago.)
2. Re Ayers, I repeat that when Obama met him, Ayers was not the head of the Weather Underground; no–he was an ex-ASSISTANT DEPUTY MAYOR OF CHICAGO (1990-1991), and he was about to be named CHICAGO CITIZEN OF THE YEAR (1997).
Facts are facts.
November 8th, 2008 03:10
David M.
Use a period, comma and question mark from time to time and someone might be able to figure out where you’re going.
Stop lying and provide some sort of proof for you outlandish lies.
You sir are obviously not going to respect Obama as our president, but you have the right to say what you think, just as we have the right to clearly show how wrong, ignorant and incorrect everything you have said is.
The same goes for Sarah Palin, from Wasilla, Alaska. I said before that I think this is an exaggeration. I think Sarah doesn’t know very much and she thinks running a town and being Governor of Alaska prepares you to run a country, first among many, but is didn’t, it doesn’t and she needs to educate herself before 2010, if her intention is to be on the ballot in 2012.
She lost her debate against Joe Biden. She rarely answered the moderator’s question, which is the actual point of the debate. I can’t think of a single question Joe Biden didn’t answer–admittedly many of his answers were wrong, but Joe Biden can’t be called ignorant or stupid. He can be called wrong-headed or deluded, but the same cannot be said for Sarah Palin.
Once upon a time, if you didn’t turn in your homework, didn’t do well on a test or couldn’t answer a simple question because you weren’t paying attention, you were punished by the instructor. The day after the Election, George Bush was still president, and Russia said they will move missiles into striking range of Poland. Poland is an ally now. A real president, who was not simply a dunce, would have taken the brinkmanship of the Russians seriously and begun discussing in public forums, including both Europe and Poland, measures to insure the safety of Poland. Barrack Obama is not the President yet, he is merely the President Elect. It is still George Bush’s duty to protect the Constitution, people, land and way of life of this great nation. His failures in the last eight years are what they are, but each and every day has to be confronted. He may have taken more vacation than he should have, but he still needs to get the job done.
November 8th, 2008 10:58

Ethan google it Rahm Emanuel was the Head of the board of directors for Freddie Mac so esentually he ran it the board of dirrectors makes the choices for their company he being the head of the board makes him guilty stop trying to make shit smell like a Rose everyday Obama makes another blunder Nancy Regan is a sweet 85 year old Lady she didn’t need to be insulted but you DAMN democrats will come up with a sugar coated excuse for that ….and now obama’s big fucking month has got Iran pissed again when will these mistakes stop he doesn’t have a clue as to what he is doing running a less than honest campaign his campaign along with the GOP lying out their asses about Palin having ties in his past to hard drugs and unsavory people making his chief of staff a thief that controlled Freddie Mac which we taxpayers are footing the bill for his crimes and Obama got way more donations from Freddie mac than John MCcain did and don’t argue that its public records so that makes it a conflict of intrest him picking Emanuel Russia isn’t scared the least little bit of Obama and Biden’s comment that obama will be tested is happening the week he got elected and Iran which congraduated Obama in his victory is saying his attitude towards them is the same as Bushes yes someone in america says Obama and Bush are treating them the same way.and at least 10% of the regestered Black voters didn’t vote for him. How long will the Democrats excuses keep flowing in trying to cover your asses for voting him in …will it take WW3 cause it could happen you idiots do know that Russia builds the reactors for Irans nuclear program don’t you Democrats are like children you see something shiney and you jump at it without taking in every possibility of what could happen after you grab it and though out the American history Democrats have been know to not look before the leap so go ahead with you smartass comments but not a Damn thing has gotten just a little better since Obama has been elected when in history has a newly elected president made so many bonehead mistakes on his first week ? Russia is on our ass Iran went from being happy with Obama to being pissed at him Iraq plainly says they don’t think obama will be any different than Bush as far as Iraq is concerned and someone should smack Obama for making any kind of joke about Nancy Regan now to foreign countries are after Obama and his chief of staff is responcible partly for the economic crash when will be enough for you bozos
November 8th, 2008 16:15
and jason simple for you …the media said Biden won the debate the public said Palin won and all of america knows that this election had the worst one sided media there ever was even Russia made a public state to that effect
November 8th, 2008 16:24
and Jason you point about the debate is well taken but it bites you in the ass during debates its very clear Obama sidesteped questions more than anyone
he made great promisses but never told how he was going to do them and the night he was elected OBAMA siad clearly I maynot be able to fix the problems of America in a year or maybe not in 1 term that isn’t what he said at his ralley in austin Texas he promissed to fix everythingand if he can’t fix alot of things in 1 term you can bet your ass the GOP will have complete control in 2012 and it will be a cold day in hell before alot of states vote democratic again ….look how Johnson screwed the Democrats up if Obama fails on his promisses the Democrats will loose Va NC Fl and the republicans will Dominate again which kind of sucks.
and no Obama isn’t my preident Im not for anyone that will lead us to WW3 because of no ideas about foreign policy
November 8th, 2008 16:47
and Democrats how do you feel that since it was anounced that Obama won
that this country has becomes alot more dangerous to live in at the rate that gun shops are being emptied Im sure at least 20% of the sales are to ppl that may pass the backround check but have no sense owning a handgun so esentually you democrates have made the US a less safer place to live
most democrats are aginst guns and ya’ll made people more affraid their constutional rights are going to be taken away more than they have already one man on the news already owned 30 guns and he was buying more alot were asked why the gun purchases responce was obama was elected
hey Etthan ,LFC and Jason hope none of your neighbors are repulicans LOL
November 8th, 2008 16:50
David M:
Where is the evidence that Rahm E was the director of Freddie Mac operations? That is what you are saying when you saying: he ran the board. Rahm E served as one of the Board of Directors (NOT as the managing director) of Freddie Mac; he attended quarterly board meetings, that’s it. And this was seven years ago for a grand total of 13 months in 2000-2001.
Facts are facts, and you are inaccurate.
November 8th, 2008 17:42
“Freddie Mac” had a Chief Executive Officer, and a Chief Financial Officer, and THOSE were the executives who ran the corporation, David M. Rahm E was not one of them–not ever. Each of the three subsidiary units of Freddie Mac also has a CEO and CFO, and Rahm E. was not one of them, either–not ever.
David, M, I suggest that when you google, you actually read the story and not just the headline of it; I believe you have been misled by googling headlines that read “Rahm E was Director of Freddie Mac.” If you actually read the story, you will see that this means he was one of the 13 members of the board of directors, NOT that he was the head or chairman of anything, let alone the CEO or CFO of anything.
Rahm E. was one of the Board of Directors of Freddie Mac for a grand total of 13 months seven years ago, in 2000-2001. There are at least 13 members of the Board of Directors at any one time. Rahm E. was one of them for 13 months seven years ago.
So David M, I want to see the evidence for your statement that Rahm E. was Head of the Board of Directors (I think you mean Chairman of the Board of Driectors) of Freddie Mac, let alone CEO or CFO of Freddie Mac–who are the people who actually run the corporation. I want to see the evidence for your statement that Rahm E. ran the company and made the choices for the company.
It isn’t true; and you are wrong. Facts are facts: Rahm E. was one of the 13 members of the Board of Directors seven years ago (2000-2001) for a little over a year; he wasn’t the head of anything and didn’t run the corporation, he merely attended four quarterly meetings of the Board, and he resigned to run for Congress in 2001. He has nothing to do with the current collapse, which occurred seven years after he left. You should stop saying what you are saying.
November 8th, 2008 21:00
well time to stop arguing seeing as i started a sucessful business under Bushes wash Im going for a second one selling shovels and waders someone going to have to clean up the mess Obama making.
i see ya’ll addressed one item but what about the problems Obama’s mouth made with Iraq or the fact that Russia is acctually showing glee with what they must think a war weak President and his big mouth and his insulting comment about Nancy Reagan.
Do you democrats really think we could handle 4 wars at a time or even a world war …better start worrying Obama so far has made more mistakes than most likely any other president elect ever has ….it really doesn’t look like obama is very good on multi tasking 2 countrys already don’t like him and one Monster country isn’t worried at all about his ability to handle the military …which he can’t maybe MCcain wasn’t the best choice but before the economic colapse 80% of the country trusted him more that Obama for keeping
the US safe….and hahahaha ya’ll are going to see Obama face all the problems Bush did and I don’t think he is as hard core as Bush can’t wait for 2010 when we unset Democrates out of congress the writing is already on the wall stop defending Obama and look at the world news in 4 days both Iraq and Iran both have said Obama is no better than bush and Russia is getting a woodie from ya’ll electing someone that knows nothing about the military hahaha
where is Colin Powell when he needs him lol on a speaking tour making the big bucks
November 8th, 2008 21:04
In other words, David M concedes he was irresponsible and inaccurate in one of his major accusations. Good enough for me.
November 8th, 2008 23:12
David M,
You can still get your GED. You don’t have to live the rest of your life semi-illiterate and ignorant. We get it now, you wanted Palin to be Vice President, because you thought she was like you. You wanted to feel that someone like you was worthy enough to be president.
You aren’t.
It takes hard work. Work Bush never did, McCain did, but Obama did better. It takes a functional understanding of the world to work and live in it. You don’t have it, Sarah doesn’t have it, and it’s not too late for either of you to try.
If you actually watched the debate, you’d have known Palin was crushed, not by the weight of Biden’s words, but by her ineffective answers and inability to answer the questions asked. As to my neighbors, I was a registered Democrat this time around so I could vote in the primaries, but I was a Registered Republican in 2000 so I could try and get McCain as president then. Between Bush and McCain and McCain and Gore, McCain was the better man and the man who should have been President. Between Obama and McCain, McCain convinced the majority of educated and uneducated alike that he was the better candidate.
You have no good reason to lie. Admit your lies, come clean, and then fade away while you try to shovel yourself out of the hole you built for yourself.
November 8th, 2008 23:14
Bah, Obama convinced the majority that he was the better candidate.
/Correction
November 9th, 2008 23:41
she’s a moron, it’s not hard to figure out. A Dumb Dubya in skirts. poor Sarah the media is sooo mean – you bethca the media will question someone running for not just a public office but the vice presidency of the ol’ United States of America. P.S. for all you who have not been paying attention Biden has already paid his dues w/ the media – wasn’t unfair treatment. if there was nothing that could stick nothing on SP would have stuck end of story can we move on? The GOP needs to find a competent savior – not a divisive reactionary – and I truly hope they do!!
November 10th, 2008 13:06
Jason how is your hero today Russia is being threatening to the US Iran says Obama is just like Bush Iraq will never accept Obama and low and behold Bin Laden is threatening to make a strike against the US making 9/11 seem small.
Then on the other side of the street in less than a week Obama is breaking campaign promisses saying everything he promissed will be put on hold so he can deal with the economy and his approval rating has dropped and he isn’t even sworn in. and since the election unemployment is still on a frightening climb so it seems ya’ll voted in a guy that his talk was very cheap surely ya’ll are disapointed with a man who bought his way into office that the world congradulated him the day after is already starting to turn on him.
his massive amount of money bought him great advisers to his campaign and now his campaign is shut down he seem to be like a lost puppy ….the lack of experience is showing bigtime .to boot because of the fear of Obama and the democratic congress no telling how many nuts are new gun owners now with all the gun shops in the US being emptied

Jason it doesn’t take hard work to be president as much as it takes common sense and stop being such an asshole and using name calling I graduated HS in 72 and college in 76 just because you spend so much time on the computer and write pretty doesn’t make you smart but your insults sure make you look stupid.
I bet you don’t talk to republicans in person like this or maybe you did and you have so much time on your hands from laying in a hospital bed recovering from an ass whiping for insulting the wrong person
I made good money with Bush in office and I felt safer in the US now we have Nobama and russia, bin laden and iran all 3 knocking on our door and if you have something bad to say about Palin stop being pussys and say it to her face and see if her husband wont whip your ass its so easy hiding behind a computer you coward

Sarah Palin is my hero. Thank the left for bringing her to our attention. Whatever they naysay I take stalk in. We’ve got four years to make our list. Sarah’s at the top of it.

Just stumbled across this website whilst googling a bit about the election aftermath. I’m hoping that most of these posts are satirical and that people like this don’t actually exist in the US. But in case they do, I’m gonna start building a bunker and stockpiling for 2013, coz if as many people back Palin then as this thread would suggest, I’m gonna need it. Honestly America, pull your head out of your ass and realise how you look to the rest of the world by promoting someone as a prospective President who would struggle to get onto a school governors board in most countries. Frankly, it’s embarrassing. Also, stop with the conspiracy theories, the ‘who-said-what’ baloney, and just concentrate on the simple fact that Obama is an eloquent and obviously highly intelligent man, whereas Palin is just an average woman, who has been catapulted into an artificially elevated position of power. I’m sure that she’s a perfectly nice woman, albeit with views somewhat different to my own, but to suggest that she is a potential president is akin to suggesting that I might be able to play QB for the New York Giants. I could do it, but I’d do a terrible job and it would be embarrassing for everyone involved.

well Dan B pack your bunker cause Palin is way more intelligent than you she was running for VP and your just running your mouth doesn’t matter what anybody thinks to go as far a MCcain and Palin against the Money Machine Obama bought his way into office with you remember Mccain and palin were winning till the finacial chrisis came along and Obama like MCcain can’t fix it
neither only one could and the US ignored him haven’t you koolaid drinkers noticed Obama is already breaking campaign promisses already and he isn’r even President yet and the appeals on the the birth certificate thing is coming up and there is told to be a video of Abama’s grandmother saying he …obama was born in Kenya I don’t believe it but if its real all of America will be screwed with Biden which isn’t as smart as Palin she is the govenor of Alaska do ya’ll really expect she could learn about the whole worlds problems in a couple months look how long Biden has been in politics and he isn’t all that smart about world affairs either… Regan was a Govenor it didn’t take him long to figure it out and Dan history repeats itself when ever the congress is dominated by the same party as the president is from its always a disaster and don’t forget the FEC is looking hard into Obama’s campaign contributions which did you know alot of people living in other countries didn’t know it was illegal for them to contribute and are steping forward because they are honest just believing the Obama hype ,
Better build the bunker now Dan cause russia iran iraq are all nopt happy with Obama and bin laden in case you haven’t heard is going to attack the USA and him saying it will be much bigger than 9/11.
When this countries safety was the concern MCcain was ahead of Obama we dont need the economics fixed if there is no USA to spend it ….think about it Dan

You should be ashamed Dave. You voted for a dumb@$$.
November 11th, 2008 18:05
ashamed of what voting for Ron Paul unlike you simple minded Democrats that can’t see your savior is heading the USA towards WW3 and is like a fish on a beach just thrashing about from biting off more than he can chew
MCcain has experience Obama doesn’t and thats a FACT and although I don’t like MCain at all he would have kept the USA safe and you Demcrats treating a lady with a constant trashing just like your doing to Palin proves your uncivalize and not an ounce of being a gentleman in any of you.
and the only reason the democrats took Va and NC is because your a bunch of carpet baging oppertunist that moved there for the jobs we know that well we are flooded with carpet bagging California people coming here to rape pilage and burn .you call us rednecks down in the south well rednecks won this countries freedom and Im sure if it came down to it we would do it again
November 11th, 2008 18:16
and I am also totally against the way democrats trashed Hillary even though I didn’t like her she is still a lady .
and you democrats are constantly defending Bill Clinton as a good president
then why didn’t ya’ll vote for Hillary she and Bill have maybe 50 times more
experience than Obama .
You koolaid drinkers Im sure will stand and still say Obama is the best even while standing in the ruins of the greatest country in the world ohhhhh I forgot ya’ll think your perfect and never do anything wrong
