Look at the pathetic turnout at the crazy “Boston tea party” against government spending
I love it. There are like 5 people there.
Malkin claims several hundred. Are they hiding underground or something? LOL.
February 27th, 2009 15:54
Malkin doesn’t say anything about a BOSTON Tea Party at the article you linked. She’s talking about one in DC.
February 27th, 2009 15:56
The boston tea party is in quotes. This is what these morons are supposedly trying to recreate.
February 27th, 2009 16:01
Ah, so this IS of the DC party. Other pics at your first link show a lot more people; I could see calling it a couple hundred. Not terribly impressive anyway. I did like the “Maobama” T – that’s funny.
February 27th, 2009 16:03
Yeah I would say not very impressive is certainly true.
February 27th, 2009 16:10
Let’s see. Who should I beleive? Michelle Malkin who was actually there and took pictures which are posted on her webiste, or this blog, written by someone “reporting” from Boston.
I’m going with Michelle.
February 27th, 2009 16:11
You’re an idiot. That’s my photo, taken near the end of the protest. Michelle was right … there were several hundred.
February 27th, 2009 16:11
Yeah the turnout looks great. Looks like there are all of 10 people in this one:
http://michellemalkin.cachefly.net/michellemalkin.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/teanc.jpg
It’s embarassing that the republicans can’t replicate what moveon.org was able to.
February 27th, 2009 16:12
Charles, nice picture of the violinists. Really seems like a million violinist march, I tell ya!
February 27th, 2009 16:14
Scholar, you’re an idiot too. You weren’t there. I was. In fact, the moron who writes this blog is using one of my photos. It wasn’t the greatest turnout, but I’ve seen ANSWER protests of similar size.
Train harder.
February 27th, 2009 16:15
Scholar, what … you don’t like violinists?
February 27th, 2009 16:16
Isn’t it a little sad this is the best Republicans could do? If this is an indication of public support for the bill, I’ll take the turnout to mean most Republicans are just fine with the bill.
February 27th, 2009 16:19
Charles: Three guesses (and the firs two don’t count) who’s the moron that writes this blog. Isn’t he using the photo without proper permission and attribution?
February 27th, 2009 16:20
I’ll happily attribute the photo to Charles, although he has already done so here. I found the photo on Malkin’s page.
February 27th, 2009 16:23
Attribute it in the post. It’s only polite.
February 27th, 2009 16:27
Absolutely! Done.
February 27th, 2009 16:29
Well, maybe you’re not such a moron after all. Thanks!
February 27th, 2009 16:30
Nope. Just new to the blogging thing.
Not new to pointing out Republican idiocy, however.
By the way, did you folks notice that Republicans accounted for 40% of the earmarks in the spending bill they’re supposedly against?
February 27th, 2009 16:35
Well, I’m not a Republican by any means. And yes … I about puked.
February 27th, 2009 16:41
Yes it was difficult for Republicans/conservatives/libertarians to show up to a demonstration because most have this thing called jobs so everyone had to take off from work. Others probably stayed at the office since pay-cuts and unemployment is too close of a reality these days. Regardless, apparently 1,000 in St. Louis showed up and 7,000+ in D.C. Impressive since there is not one group organizing this and the 30+ cities only had a few days to prepare.
February 27th, 2009 17:01
Yes, I wanted to go to the Tea Party here in Houston…
But it’s 4pm on a Friday and I STILL haven’t finished with my week’s work.
I’ll be working here another two or three hours…
I’ll work some on Saturday and some on Sunday as well.
Socialism is a lie! Give it a decade of having people sit on their butts receiving government assistance. That assistance REALLY comes from hard working people like ME.
And guess what? When the economy crumbles, owing to so much sloth, I won’t be able to fund your social programs no matter how hard I (or others like me) work.
Barack hates capitalism. Barack is a devout socialist. Socialism? It does nothing more than create an elite power structure (read: the senate, congress and White Houst) while generating trickle up poverty.
Welcome to the decline of prosperity.
February 27th, 2009 18:41
Scholar, keep training. It only took a very few in Boston to defeat the socialismof King George and it will only take a few of us to throw off the tyranny of this latest king of socialism. It all starts with One!
February 27th, 2009 18:53
Bill, welcome to the decline of prosperity? This prosperity ended when your GWB invaded Iraq, bankrupted us to China, and left the financial institutions to rape us.
February 27th, 2009 19:26
There were 350-400 people gathered in the park. the picture you posted is of a handful of girls playing celt music near the end as it was beginning to rain. layfayette park was easily 1/2 full of people at 12:30 but it started raining at 1:00 and all of the speakers had finished so we headed out.
following in the footsteps of 70 years of failed collectivist policies is my definition of idiocy. The thing the republican party has done wrong in the last few years has been to abandon conservative principles and free market econonimics.
February 27th, 2009 20:19
I say “Bravo, Protestors!” I couldn’t go to the Tea Party in Atlanta today but I will clear my calendar for the next one!
February 27th, 2009 22:12
Alice you can find video and pics on the web of the ATL group there were easily 500 we filled up the capital steps inside the barricades and were made to stand single file down the sidewalk and flowed across the street to the church, during the entire event we had torrential downpours there was standing water in the street, I even saw a woman in a wheelchair out in those heavy rains carrying her sign. I have seen much smaller turnouts at the capital on a weekend, in sunny weather on an event planned a month out not 5 days!
February 28th, 2009 10:02
Well, It looks like S.I.T. (Scholar In Training) got his ass kicked here. I wonder what kind of scholar he is training to be?
Who is John Galt!?! (reference intended)
February 28th, 2009 10:21
What’s funny is that you folks can’t hold a candle to the organization moveon.org provides. This is why you keep losing elections. I love it!
February 28th, 2009 16:32
You liberals are about the snobbiest, arrogant, and most intolerant group I have ever encountered. Did a single one of you have a truly strong father to teach you? My guess is that you had PC sissys(oops did I offend someone) half men teach you about life. I am sick to death of reading your whiny, wimpy, half man= half woman commentary. I hope Obama works for you because you obvioussly are too weak to take care of yourselves or your families without the rest of us covering your faults.
Yes we will share the wealth we worked hard for as you are incapable of wiping your own nose or ass.
March 1st, 2009 01:41
Scholar, the left’s recent successes only serve to demonstrate that it’s very easy to organize lemmings.
History is replete with examples. None of them last long.
March 1st, 2009 13:22
Scholar in Training, good name for you – hope you continue to train.
“This prosperity ended when your GWB invaded Iraq, bankrupted us to China, and left the financial institutions to rape us.”
Find out who voted for the Iraq war – you’ll be surprised. Even John Kerry, John Edwards, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden voted for it: http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=107&vote=00237&session=2.
We’re being fleeced here into thinking it was one evil person, but it was many.
March 1st, 2009 19:34
Scholar in Training, I sincerely want you and the rest of those who subscribe to the liberal/socialist “Idiotology” to enjoy your brief moment in the sun for you will be driven back under the rocks from whence you came soon enough. What you see in these protests cannot be measured by the number of those attending for this is just the beginning. What you and those like you are seeing is the very tip of an iceberg, to use an old cliche. It is that which is not yet visible that will crush you along with your socialist dreams for America. There is a day of reckoning coming for the treacherous acts being committed against the American Nation and the American People, a group that I will respectfully exclude you and those like you from. You see what you people fail to understand is that the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are “NOT” just words on pieces of paper, but a living part of every “TRUE” Amercan’s very being and not one word, sentence, paragraph or page is negotiable, not one. A day is coming when the “American People”, who are so often ‘quoted” and yet no longer heard by Washington, will be heard from “LOUD AND CLEAR” and will never again be silenced. We will restore this nation, not “change” but restore her. Decades of govermental abuses and unconstitutional decisions and judgements will be stripped away and those individuals, as well as organizations, who have undermined the founding principles on which this nation rests or have committed treasonist acts against her people will be dealt with accordingly and the rebuke will be severe. So by all means enjoy, you have “won a battle”, but you have yet to fight the WAR!!!!!!

Scholar, The truth is that none of these ideas are new. they’ve been around forever. If you want to graduate into a scholar you need to think more than to make excuses for the current administrations actions by pointing out how the previous administration screwed up. A true conservative doesn’t like many of the things bush did just like we don’t like almost anything the current administration is doing. The fact that bush screwed some things up doesn’t make what we’re doing now right. The true tyranny and fascism comes from the left, and thats the way it’s always been. The first liberal progressive President was Woodrow Wilson, the next was FDR. They were also the only 2 times in our history where we had political prisoners in this country. Wilson had literal goon squads (thats what he called them) that rounded up and imprisoned people for speaking out against the state including beating to death in prison women who were fighting for womens sufferage. By the end of his adminstration we had 50,000 political prisoners. Under FDR we had over 125,000. The goal of the left to this day is to silence any who disagree.
The reason why groups like moveon.org have better organization is for 2 reasons. one is that liberals have been fighting for causes for decades and have built up a much more efficient networking system. That doesn’t mean that they’re right or that conservatives viewpoints won’t be heard. Conservatives, because they hold freedoms and liberties above all else, tend to practice live and let live until those freedoms and liberties are put in jeopardy. They’re voices will get louder and louder. Believe me, even many of those who think they are liberal will in the end become conservative if the administration continues to threaten our liberty. The second reason is money. Most media is owned by the left. NBC for instance is owned by GE whose CEO is now an Obama financial adviser. If you think thats not a political favor, you’re naive. GE also has the largest lobbying arm in the world. What a coincidence that they pushed so hard for Obama and his agenda.
The truth is that Obama has already added 1.75 trillion to our deficit in 3 months. Thats 1.75 trillion over and above what we can pay for. Thats a third of what bush did in 8 years in just 3 months. And, if you know anything about the structure of nations economies, it’s much better that China bought it than us printing it like we are now. I hated the spending then as I hate the crazy overspending now. Bush also got hammered as a fascist because he strengthened the executive office so much. We kept hearing about the “power grab” from President Bush. Now with obama in office he hasn’t given back any of those powers. In fact he’s strengthened it more in 2 months than bush did in 8 years. He has already grabbed the census from the commerce department which is responsible for our electorate system and therefore helps determine the outcomes of elections. Also, Bush created the “War Czar”. Now with Obama we have the war, drug, car, energy, health, and countless other “czars”. The problem with the “czar” program is that they have zero congressional oversight. They answer only to the President. Therefore the president can appoint a czar and control any area he wants without any oversite. So who is promoting fascism now? Obama. Is it still wrong to you now that it’s a liberal president doing it? Would you still call it fascism? The answer should be yes. Hold all of them accountable for their actions. You should hate these actions just like liberals hated it when Bush did it. You have to hold the values as the most important thing. Not the poeple who claim to represent them.
Lastly, just a word of caution. The actions we are taking are not exactly socialism. They are much closer to whats called “social nationalism”. Nazi Germany was a social nationalist state. Some of Europe operates on this system. Some of the things you don’t hear about these systems are the car bombings that take place due to job losses in the steel industries due to the countries policies. The deaths that occur in the hundreds of thousands while people are put on waiting lists for healthcare. Most liberals say,”well canada’s just fine.” Do you know there are more MRI machines in pittsburgh than in all of canada. I have Canadian friends that have pulled their teeth out with pliers because they were on a 6 month waiting list for a cavity. The systems don’t work. You and everyone else on both sides better hope that the conservative voices get heard because the alternative is nationwide violence we haven’t seen since the civil war. The country has a breaking point. Gun sales are on record numbers in most conservative areas of the country and the only way to avoid something like that happening is if the people are heard. If this administration continues to push things through without regard for the opposition, it will end badly.
March 3rd, 2009 16:38
“The New Boston Tea Party”, brought to you by the same people who told us just a few years ago that we should privatize Social Security so we could all make sooooo much more money in the market. Or that the market is efficient in delivery of healthcare.
I think I’ll give Obama’s ideas a shot rather than clinging to bad ideas that have already been proven to fail.
March 3rd, 2009 19:09
If you read a little history, Scholar, then you would also know that socialism has always failed. I would agree that the economic policy of GWB were bad as well. We need to follow the example of Ronald Reagan who pulled the country out of a similar recession. No country has ever spent its way out of a recession. Scholar, I suggest you read some history before you open you mouth so that you actually know what you are talking about. Conservatives are protesting against the Republican Party as much as the Democratic Party. Both parties have failed the US taxpayers.
March 4th, 2009 07:55
Both parties have failed but the repubs have bankrupted us!!!!
April 16th, 2009 15:33
Here some facts…there were 2000 tea parties across the US. Austin (a liberal town if there every was one…) had 5000-6000 people strecthing down the entire length of Congress Blvd and across the Towne Lake Bridge
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-RuuoLs3_s
4 minutes into the video should give you the idea…and this was the second event of the day. Say what you want, we really don’t care.
“…a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty once lost is lost forever. When the People once surrender their share in the Legislature, and their Right of defending the Limitations upon the Government, and of resisting every Encroachment upon them, they can never regain it…
John Adams
Even the Chinese are going to stop buying our Treasuries and the Fed is having to buy their own notes.
Have great day!
April 16th, 2009 18:40
I call horse$hit!!! Where is the cite for the chinese not buying our debt?????
